What You Look Like & What You Wear ?

Most of my clothes are from Seasalt, Boden and White Stuff so you can probably guess what I look like. I veer towards blue which suits me. Gym pants in 7/8 length also feature in my wardrobe as they’re the perfect (full) length. No prizes for guessing I’m petite in height.
I often wonder how a stylist would accoutre me. For major events in the past other women have advised me on the dress, shoes, handbag, tights, make up, hair, etc. One, a good friend, made earrings to complete my outfit. Much to my surprise as I prefer to avoid attention, I thoroughly enjoyed it and felt good.

When I am going out, I start by thinking about my feet. Is any walking involved or is it door to door? Will I need to stand for long? My feet need to be comfortable. That often means “sensible” shoes, so trousers work best. I have never worn jeans.
I am never sure what to wear with skirts or dresses, unless it is a smart do, when I will wear smart sandals, with a tiny heel. My feet soon get cold, unless it is a heatwave, so I am most comfortable in socks, but no way am I wearing socks with a dress!
The rest is easier, once feet are sorted.

I'm a Joules girl, and as many florals as possible. Will be wearing the navy one this afternoon, the orange one on Friday.

I wear grey or black. In winter I wear long leggings with Ugg boots and in summer I wear 3/4 leggings with trainers. That’s about it really! I did try to buy colourful clothes at one time but I never wear them. I have a wardrobe full of clothes that I’ve bought for weddings but never worn. Same with shoes.

I wear (almost) the same things every day. I have a number of linen dresses which I wear with/without t-shirt type layers almost every day according to the season. I may/may not also wear trousers or fitted cropped trousers or even leggings according to the weather.

I decide which dress to wear according to which is ironed! It's become a uniform of sorts over time.
I do have lots of brooches which I love.

I don't have any style icons but I do know know someone (very arty) who always looks super fabulous. I'd dress more like her if I could fit into those straight-up-and-down styles.

I wear a lot of black and leggings, jogging and long tops. If I could I would have Helena Bonham Carters’ wardrobe but I’m not brave enough to dress like that for the life I lead.

I’d aspire to dress like Mariella Frostup, she’s very cool I think, and she’s not much younger than I am - life can be unfair!

I spend a lot of time in the garden, wearing disgraceful old clothes. If I’m out and about it’s jeans, chinos or smart trousers, with a structured jacket, scarf and a shirt usually. Heeled boots (not high!) or flat boots in the winter, and sandals or mules in the summer. I don’t like dresses on me, the last time I wore a dress was to my daughter’s wedding - they don’t fit my lifestyle since I retired. I’d never wear a skirt - they seem pointless because they are so much less comfortable than trousers. To go out I’d prefer a jumpsuit or trousers and a top or tunic in a plain colour or a geometric pattern.

Yes, I'm for Judi Dench's look too...especially the clothes she wore in Marigold Hotel...elegant and easy to wear.

I like Grizas... very flattering silk linen mix, Vetono, Seasalt for a more relaxed look. Linen is great as it doesn't cling and I like the crumpled look. Loose fitting, mid calf and slightly floaty.

I have large breasts and anything with a collar makes me look like the matronly gym mistress at school...so it's all about taking attention away from that area. I have a big behind too...so don't wear anything fitted there! I equally don't wear a voluminous tent!! Getting flattering clothes without spending a fortune is hard work for me!
You can get some great designer clothes at very good prices on Ebay.

I always wear a long sleeved under top and leggings and flat shoes. If we ever do have a really hot day, I don't use the undergarments. Those days, sadly are rare here in Scotland.

I stopped wearing trousers and tunic tops as I have cellulite on my thighs and it wasn't a great look! Mostly I wear muted self colours and coordinating patterned scarves. Blues, teal, turquoise, coral all work well. I was a red head.

Now my hair is white grey I don't suit olive greens or anything with a yellowish tone and black can be harsh next to the skin..but sometimes ok with a scarf. I do have a vivid leaf green linen summer dress and love it...feels like a fresh day!

I was not familiar with this brand. I have just looked...... and now want much of their stock! Better start saving!

I have big boobs and no waist so I dress with fitted shapes or I look like a blob.
I wear things from Next & Hush for expensive bits (on sale) and like bright colours, bright pinks and orange usually with a denim skirt or jeans and gold Birkenstock’s.
I have blonde bob (now a lob as it needs a cut) and if I don’t have a real tan I use one from a bottle!

I colour my hair (blonde) and always wear a full face of make-up, although not too much. I wear clothes for comfort, I'm not interested in fashion - I wear dark trousers, trainers (unable to wear heels these days), and a blouse or top, often in pinks, reds, or purples, as I like those colours and they seem to suit my skin tones. I've got a lovely black leather jacket I like to wear in the evening.

I paint my nails. I never wear jewellery as I'm allergic to nickel, but I wear a plain watch.

I wouldn't ever wear jeans with slashes/holes in them. I get my clothes from Asda, Simply Be, Dorothy Perkins and Yours Clothing.

i wear various colours of straight leg jogging trousers and different tops from charity shops and various mens t-shirts from primark all year round, i have one skirt for funerals, no dresses or trousers.

Ever since the style gurus gave the ???to trainers I have been able to wear comfortable shoes and not feel too grannyish.
I have 2 pairs of Hotter Chase (white and pewter) and 2 pairs of Jana Softline (beige suede and dark navy suede) and I could honestly junk all the rest of my shoes and live in these.
I looked at the Chicatanyage website and apart from the fact that she is tall and a size 10, her choice is very much mine (small and size 16)
So it looks as if most if not all of us are thinking along the right lives - but why do so many women feel the need to have their confidence boosted, I wonder?
Just putting that out there.

I don’t think that it’s allowed anymore in jewellery.
I’ve got tonnes of costume jewellery, and it’s all been fine

Smart and classy, like a lot of Joan Collins clothes, don’t want to look like anyone as I am happy as I am. I think a lot of the celebrities dress awful, all that money and a lot look tacky. Too much on show is not nice. Joan Collins always looks the part, JoannaLumley too.

My dad’s wife is a big fan of both Joan and Joanna, and she always looks really, really glam.
It really is simply a matter of what suits you + what you are comfortable in

Smart and colourfully coordinated is my aim. Think I achieve it. Certainly very happy with my wardrobe and how I mix 'n' match.
