Perfumes you've worn down the years

Ohh some of these names are bringing back fond memories !
I started off with Sea Jade ? Yardley
Then ,like a lot of others Anais Anais, which I used to spray on letters I sent to a boyfriend serving in the Falklands ! (Showing my age eh.)
Then I moved onto Chanel Cristalle (I thought I was soo sophisticated).
Now it’s Jo Malone Wood sage and Sea salt for me ❤️

Used to wear KL by Karl Lagerfeld, now discontinued, everything I try now doesn't seem to work on my skin.

My eldest daughter and a book club friend of mine each prefer to consistently wear their ‘signature’ perfume choices over the years. Not me! I’ve several on the go both here and over in Spain. My mood changes and I love ‘choosing’ which one to spritz myself with - plus some are lighter day time scents and some are heavier, more suitable for evenings out. I never go a day without a chosen something!

Some remind me of ‘events’. I got married in 1974 wearing ‘L’air du Temps’. ‘Amarige’ by Givenchy always reminds me of a wonderful holiday in Playa Blanca, Lanzarote. Bulgaria ‘Omnia’ was the choice of my youngest for her wedding day in 2010 and I’ve bought it ever since. Clinique’s ‘Aromatic’ was my mum’s favourite and I wear it (sparingly, it’s heavy!) in memory of her. And so on. I’d bore you further to take you through the full range so I’ll spare you! But you get my drift. And then I make new memories buying from duty free at the airport. I couldn’t choose MY BEST!

Anyone remember Memoire Cherie, I think it was by Elizabeth Arden. It was my wedding perfume.

I think I've had a go at most of the perfumes that have been mentioned. I used to have half a dozen on the go at one time when I was working as a chap used to visit the hospital from his perfume shop and would sell off his shop samples as well as new so I used to arm myself with a collection each time he was there.

D had bought me a Coco Noir ( Chanel ) as a pre-Christmas present and it's lovely, quite powerful which I like. Lighter ones aren't so good on me and soon fade.
I usually buy a box of the small samples off ebay which are handy to carry around for a quick spritz.

I might go for Chanel No19 next week with the money from brother.

I must say that my favourite has been Mitsouko and even that has changed from when I first bought it years ago.

I can't believe my favourite was Evening in Paris.

I am wearing Ysatis at the moment, Casdon. I agree about a scent being associated with a person. I have a good friend who wore Chloe Narcisse, and one whiff of it, and she's there, in my mind.

Fanny, that Pretty Peach picture has brought back even more memories. How I loved twisting off the peaches top to get at that cream in the little basket. And the powder puff and clouds of peachy talc…though I dare say it did my young lungs no favours.

Chocolatelovinggran I know that if I ever get to smell the heady mix of Eternal and Marlboro lights, I’ll be back to the early 90s with my bestie! Bless her, she stank of the stuff!
I actually can’t even remember what I wore at the time; it was probably pointless!

White linen but Estée Lauder for years. When I was really young I used to wear eau de cologne. Someone once bought me some Chanel number 5 but I thought it was vile and chucked it away. I’ve always liked sandalwood, especially in oil burners but it is not so easy to get here.

My very first perfumes/scents were Sea Jade or Bond Street by Yardey. When I started work I treated myself to a bottle of Stevie B which I really loved, sadly no longer available. I also liked Cachet, Charlie, Aqua Manda and Tramp. My sister always had Mary Quants Havoc in the silver bottle.. Later I moved on to headier perfumes like Opium and Poison.
Now my all time favourites are Coco Chanel Dior's J’adore, Givenchy’s Organza or Lancôme’s La Vie Est Belle. I do like to try new or different fragrances, I like some of the Marc Jacobs and Jimmy Choo perfumes. I had a bottle of Michael Kors Sparkling Blush for Christmas which is very nice, hadn’t tried it before. So many to choose from now, we’re spoilt for choice but I still love my old favourites.

I’ve gone down a vintage Avon rabbit hole.

Diorissimo, Quelques fleurs (made by company with a name like Houbiguant), White linen. Until DH 'discovered' Jo Malone while sleuthing round John Lewis one Christmas. He thinks I use an entire bottle in a year and does not know that the company has been sold. So I have a drawerful, of which my winter favourite is mimosa and something.

By the way, I never think of myself as 'wearing' scent, I 'use' it. Perhaps one for pedants' corner?

Haha yes my Nanna & mum used to order perfumes in novelty shaped bottles from the Avon book. My mum loved Elegance and Lily of the Valley. I believe some of the old Avon bottles are quite collectable now!

12/aquamanda. 14/khadeen. 19/chanel19. 20s/ cabochon .30s/armani. Cabotine. 40s/Elizabeth Arden 5th avenue and beautiful. 50s/j'adore.and now? Chanel crystals eau verge Cinema/ la vie Est Belle.
Lots of cheapos in between though! Charlie! Gingham. Avon various ones.
I did perfume parties in 80sfor JeanPierreSand which was genuine french larfum at an absolute fraction of big names And undiscernable from originals!made a fortune happy days!

I remember L'Aimant from many years ago!
I liked Elizabeth Taylor White Diamond for some years.
Now it's Ralph Lauren Romance.
I'm not a perfume connoisseur so I can't even remember them all, as long as I own one I like.

Yes I remember it Fanny. And briefly wore it.
When I was little I remember Mum wore (on high days and holidays) Black Rose by Goya which came in a tiny bottle with a dark red top, also Evening in Paris which I’m sure you could get in Woollies and became Soir de Paris. Granny wore (also only occasionally) 4711.

In the 70s it was Tweed, Charlie, or Jovan Musk oil.

I woreTabu in the 70s found it on a girlie hol in Spain and fell in love with it..and also Brut for men for a time was popular in my circle of friends..then went onto Oscar de la Renta..very expensive at the time..
Now it's Calvin Klein's Beauty,also Ralph Lauren's Romance and Versace's Vanitsas..spray it on cushions and throws..
