Charitable donations in relation to one's total income

I think it will be different for everyone. Someone on a good income might be less well off than someone on a lower income if they have higher medical expenses than someone else, are supporting an elderly or younger family member financially, or a whole host of reasons. Demands on people's incomes aren't equal so there's no telling how much of someone's income is available to donate based on the level of it.
