I expect Charles has mellowed, because you can just see there isn't the tension there was with Diana.
Perhaps he is happy to share the limelight more, or perhaps he feels Camilla is more suited to sharing it.

where i live there is an elderly couple, i think indian and she always walks behind her husband with her head down, i think this is a show of respect to her husband, maybe camilla is doing the same in allowing people to see her husband first, it also depends on what they are visiting as a few years ago it was all over the papers when an aircraft carrier was being named after prince charles but he walked behind as she had been the lady sponser of the aircraft.

It is really difficult if you walk more quickly than your partner. I'm always having to turn round and wait for DH to catch up, I just find it really hard to walk that slowly.

Camilla has always walked behind Charles. He gets off airplanes first as well. She is being very careful to be a support to Charles instead of competing like Diana ended up doing. I don’t think she wants to be famous/celebrity. She seems to be a very good helpmate to him which is probably why we see him being much more cheerful these days.

Sorry Anniebach, I can't remember if you think I'm a Diana supporter or not.

In 1981 my knowledge of the RF wasn't encyclopaedic and it still isn't. I just saw a woman the same age as me whose plan for the future was to get married and who seemed to think the RF were a good option for that. And who didn't seem to have thought it through much. I'm afraid I was too busy studying for a degree on which to base my future life to think that it was all because she was only young so she could be excused.
