Pyjamas or nighties (subject may offend)

I’ve worn nighties all my life but am thinking of trying pyjamas for a change as I can lounge about them watching tv in the evening. I’ve avoided PJs up to now from the freshness aspect when say visiting the toilet at night if you get my drift! There’s always a few droplets left for some reason after wiping. Whilst I’m writing this I’ve just realised you may get this with a nightie too, but I’ve never felt this was a problem.

Wear pj top for couple of days but clean pj bottoms everyday.I put my pjs on after dinner to watch TV before bed.

Just to add only wear pjs when really cold. Otherwise calf length nightie with pants of course.

I prefer PJ’s and usually wear pants under the trousers.

Me too!

Long tee shirt, knickers underneath. Cannot wear PJs, haven’t been able to for a very long time now, get red hot in bed even in cold temps, have been like this since the menopause.

Depends on why we're going to bed. If for fun - nothing.

Otherwise, Short nighties, no knickers.

When it's really cold long nighties, no knickers, socks.

*always a few droplets left* I'm an adult and there are no droplets left after I've used the toilet........fgs.

As we get older some of us develop leakage problems lemsip nothing much we can do about it and nothing to do with being a grown up.
Not a very sympathetic post.

A cypher poster?

If I didn’t know better I thought it was HQ resurrecting an old thread just to keep the conversation going.

I wear nighties with a long dressing gown for lounging. I don't feel comfortable in pyjamas.

Me too! but I am not a good lounger either, so prefer to say in my day clothes until close to when I go to bed.

I have ADHD and tend to be on the move allnthe time. When she was a teenager, DD once took me by the hand and took me into the living room and said to me 'Mummy, this room is called a living room. It has chairs in it that are comfortable to sit in, why do you not consider coming in here now and again and trying them out'.

I still prefer an upright chair at a table or desk.

I bought some nighties ahead of an abdominal operation some years ago. I thought that pyjamas might be uncomfortable. I’m a convert now although only in the very cold weather or when I’m staying away from home.

TheWeirdo Wed 02-Oct-24 10:40:01

I can't deal with pj's or nighties, I find them both exceptionally uncomfortable so it's t-shirt and shorts for me and in very cold weather a over-sized comfy jumper too!

biglouis Wed 02-Oct-24 10:16:33

Ive always slept commando style.

henetha Wed 02-Oct-24 10:14:50

Jim jams and knickers for me. I don't seem to have any trouble with 'drops'. Not yet, anyway. smile

I get very cold so wear a cotton jersey nightie in bed. Short sleeves and below my knee. It does not get tangled up. I leave my nether regions free as that area is covered during the day. A fresh nightie each night after my shower.

If I did not wash the nighties for 2-3 weeks I would not notice as I have so many.

Clean pyjamas every day, I wear clean underwear every day, why wouldn't I wear clean pyjamas every night too? Sling them in the wash with underwear, all cotton, cool, comfortable, easy to launder.

I usually buy an extra pair of pyjama bottoms so I wear the top twice and the trousers once.

I'd forgotten about that - still true, but less often. I've developed a Cyberjammies habit - their nighties are so beautiful.

Absolutely. Why wouldn't you? Wash and a clean pair for night wear. .

For the same reason as the OP, no pyjamas. Nightie and definitely no knickers

I’ve always been more of a nightie person in the summer since they’re light and comfy, but when it starts getting cooler, I switch to PJs. They’re great for lounging around in the evening, especially when you’re just relaxing and watching TV. As for the other issue, I get what you mean, but I’ve found that with regular washes, it’s not really a problem. If you’re thinking about making the switch, maybe try some thedom.com/midnight-mischief-sleepwear —you might find them perfect for both lounging and staying comfy.

Why resurrect a thread from 2021? Is this a spam post?

M&S cotton or cotton jersey Nightdresses have always been my night attire ?

Snap. jersey nighties gives a lot of freedom movement, and can move more freely in that PJ's that seem to get sort of snarled up and not comfy.

I’m the same as Stasiacyph. We are mid Season here so last night I wore a nightie and about 4 am it went cold so I got up and put my pj bottoms on underneath. Plus a pair of socks ! You wouldn’t think you’d need that in Australia but down south you do . Husband slept through the lot, as per usual.
