G'day Rufus. Your disappearing acts get us all in a dither here.
You sound chipper despite your diagnosis and the state of the world in general.
Things seem to be getting back to some kind of normal here in the UK and we are going to have to learn to live with all these bloomin' viruses. Our autumn weather seems to be better than the Aussie spring too!

Hi Rufus, I was thinking about you last night, wondering what you were up to. We’ve just come back from a few days in Weston super Mare, glorious weather and lovely hotel. Our landlady should be back running the local tonight, she’s had Covid, we can catch up with local gossip! MrJ has Newcastle v Leeds to watch tonight; I’ve come home to blighted tomatoes in the greenhouse, they’ll all be out tomorrow, shame, but the yucky peppers are doing well.

The elastic in my suspenders is really suffering Rufus. Good to see your post. Missed you. What a mix of medical updates and ??about the tests.

I shall look into the Rob Gell reference. Book or TV? . MrM will be keen to learn more being a railway fan and also the mine reference. We live in the smithy that was part of a 1820s Cornish iron mine site. Still it's original walls. 24m2 floor space. How do I live in such a small cottage. With difficulty, is my answer, so we are building a house close to the cottage.

Glad to hear you're back Rufus2. When there was no 'Chewsday' thread I was concerned. You sound very cheery despite everything going on with you.
Poor old Oz struggling with Covid - lockdowns, anti lockdowns, anti vaxxers etc. Just bite the bullet and do whatever it takes to beat Covid.
In better news I'm sure you'll be thrilled that Australia is to have a lovely new nuclear submarine! Good luck placating the frogs French!

Hello Rufus, a relief to hear your news from OZ again . Yes the autumn weather is fine here,a lot better than some in the summer .
Really miss having a holiday this year probably first year ever,although having a few days soon wth son and family in the North which will be good.
Are you getting out at all other than for medical reasons and still having ‘carers’ visit regularly to help.?

Glad you are back again Rufus but sorry to read of your nasty diagnosis and do hope the tests are not too invasive, Sometimes it is better not to go into too much of that especially when we are older - unless you are in a lot of pain,

An older friend of mine - the father of a friend - was told he had prostate cancer but opted for no treatment as he was around your age, and went on to live quite a few more happy years.

You will make the decision on what is right for you.

Goodness things sound bad in OZ. I had no idea. I tend to avoid the news as much as possible. This virus isn't going away anytime soon methinks.
Fingers crossed for visit to oncologist. Interesting what Fatgran said.
I'm glad you're still sounding cheerful. Must have a look at Cornwall prog. I think there's some good tv atm.
