MayBee70 I only found out last week that if slugs go onto a dogs bowl at night your dog can catch lungworm off it. I used to leave our dogs bowl outside but make sure to bring it in now, also I keep the dried dog food in the garage in a flip top bin and I used to find slug trails on the food but now I've put a bag over the food and sealed it with an elastic band round the outside underneath the lid
That was the first thing I thought of when I saw the slug outside, given that we don’t usually have slugs in the garden. Her wormer covers lungworm and, even though she’s not due to be wormed yet awhile I’ll give her a tablet today. They last for 3 months but if you get a dog that’s a bit of a scavenger they need treating every month. She’s a grazer so I tend to leave her bits of kibble out as she gets the munchies at night sometimes. Thanks for the reminder. I did wash the tray straight away but it’s best to be on the safe side.
