I got home yesterday after nearly a week in Scotland. Lovely to see my sister and BiL after 18 months - nephews, niece, great nieces and nephews too. It seemed a shame to have to leave in lovely sunshine which lasted until the train rolled into Manchester! We were about 20 minutes late reaching Manchester Piccadilly so I had missed my connection to my home station. However, by a remarkable stroke of luck, a train for a reasonably close station arrived and I jumped aboard, ordered a taxi to meet me on arrival and was home just as soon as I should have been!
Much seems to have happened here in my absence and I haven't caught up yet. If soop's rock cakes are anything like my granny's, I'll pass on them. Granny made hers with rocks...yes, really! I think we once made them at school, though I believe they were meant to be scones.
