Good Morning Saturday

Good morning from a sunny'sh Essex by the sea. It's better than the torrential downpours we have had over the last few days.
I'm not feeling 100%, a throat infection. I've done a test and it was negative and I am very prone to sore throats.
A day indoors watching the Olympics and reading I think.
I've sent DH to do some work on his boat as he gets bored being indoors for any length of time.

Good morning all from a dull and chilly Welwyn, Herts, but at least it's dry at the moment, after the sporadic, heavy showers we had yesterday.
It looks like we've had our summer this year, already the long evenings are drawing in. However, each season has it's own particular beauty with the changes in nature.
We started picking the runner beans this week as they are ready and sharing them with family members.
Yesterday DH and I celebrated our 44th wedding anniversary, had a glass of wine with our evening meal.
We plan to have lunch out next week when our own food here is used up.
The years seem to have passed so quickly and now most of us are in the final phase of life, so we must live each day as well and fully as we can.
On that note, wishing you all a pleasant Saturday, however you may spend it.

Good Morning all from grey Harrogate - what has happened to summer? Where has it gone?
DH had his procedure yesterday and is now a bit sore, but it will get better. I am supposed to be with him for 24 hours after, but he's a stubborn man, he's gone out dog walking but I managed (amidst a lot of grumbling) to get him to take his phone with him.
Something much worse happened yesterday!! The zip on my favourite trousers burst, I've only had them for about 15 years!! .... and they came from Primark! I hate replacing zips, so it will be a fond farewell. The zip is unrepairable - I'm gutted!!
Gelisajams I do envy you touring the Shetlands, enjoy! Ash enjoy your time away - relax!

Good morning Mick, Annie and all, from a dullish bit if Berks.
Had a Freecycler collecting some Tassimo espresso capsules, early this morning, and a dress from Seasalt has just been delivered. It was in the sale, so thought I would give it a go. It's red linen, and creased from packing, but what is disappointing, is that it looks old before it's even been on, and faded where it's been pressed. So back it goes. Shame.
DH was upstairs singing, lovely, I haven't heard that for ages. Last week at Church, he said his voice had gone, even though we were singing, or trying to, with masks on. ?
A new router is due today, as yesterday using my IPad was like wading through treacle.
Harrigran, I do hope your DH has a good day today, after his rest day yesterday. Enjoy your foodie treats today.
I know I have not been 'joining in' recently, but do miss lots of familiar names. Are they all taking a break, or have we lost them for good.

Good morning from a dull, albeit dry Black Country.

DS and family arrived in Newquay today at about 9.30am from Staffordshire! They leave about 3am. I did message him that a lorry had overturned on the M5 Southbound last night near Worcester, and it was thought it may remain closed until morning. He said that it had cleared by the time they set off! Hopefully they will have some sunshine in the 2 weeks they are there. DD and family arrived home yesterday from Wales, where they had a lovely week.

Just made some bread, and now waiting for an hour for the dough to rise, before shaping into baps and putting back to rise again. Delia Smiths Breakfast rolls. They are delish! Looking forward to a freshly baked one for lunch

MrJ is out on a bike ride with his club.

The garden had a drink yesterday and it is cool today.
I've just sadly waved farewell to my DS and BiL from down south who have been staying for a week or so.
How I will miss them.
We had visits from DS and 4 DGC yesterday and several trips out to beaches and gardens. Lovely.

A very late night with my sister from the south, catching up and a nice meal cooked by me, all civilised in the dining room with candlelight etc.
Today off shopping (when the going gets tough, the tough go shopping) and out for a meal tonight. Don’t know what to wear, mixed up weather…
As I type, my iPad is making clicking noises, almost like a typewriter?

Good morning from the Sefton coast where it is cloudy, rather cool and rain looks likely.
I didn’t manage to read yesterday’s news until very late last night but I did post. Hopefully you read my message muse, Mick, Marydoll, Mrharri and Grandmabatty. Getting up to speed with GM is my preferred start to the day and I always note the added bonus of photos displayed.
Empty supermarket shelves and tannoy announcements about shortages are also evident here, Mick and Ashcombe. On Thursday it was a challenge to buy fresh carrots in our local branch! Happy 44th wedding anniversary maydonoz and may those who are away have a super time. The scenery in Northumberland is outstanding imo Greyduster.
After 14 years of service, my washing machine was declared kaput on Thursday. We have managed to remove its ‘slide-along feet’ (what a discovery) in readiness for its replacement on Monday.
DGS spent the afternoon with us yesterday. He’s a bit unsettled as he’s cutting back molars: only mummy will do for him at the moment. Every time she removed her encircling arm, he firmly replaced it! DGD is coming for a sleepover today but we won’t be spending the afternoon in the paddling pool as we did two weeks ago. In fact, warmer duvets are going on beds here.

Good morning everyone from cloudy Lancashire. It was raining first thing but brightening a little now. Hope you all have the best day you can.

Hello everyone. A very wet day earlier in Melrose but now back home some twenty miles away it's dry and cool. I love having the doors open as there is a slight breeze and for some reason I think it's good for a house to be aired. A wash on, bathroom cleaned and curry made for tea. Will blitz bedroom next. Have a good day as possible.

Good Mafternoon everyone from the south of a hot and sunny country you may have totally lost interest in visiting - ever again. What IS going on with the travel arrangements supposedly set out by Governments almost every day? I've yet to meet anyone who understands any of it!

Lovely to see you posting, AuntieFlo. I too wonder about some missing posters. Maybe they'll come back once the summer is over and there's more time available. It's hardly impressive to receive a nice dress through the post which already seems to look old. What a shame. I love Seasalt - and there are some big reductions. Wonder if it was just the combination of the colour and the material gave it a rather battered look which can happen - especially after a hot iron! Never mind, plenty more dresses to be had.

Great funicular photo, Ash. I always laugh and think of the jolly Italian song and the line "jamme jamme jà, Funiculì, Funicula, whenever I hear that rather unusual word....which is not often these days. It's very many years since I have visited Babbacombe, Hastings and Lynton cliff railways. Lovely views - especially from the cliffs above Hastings. I think they are fascinating and such fun for all ages. Enjoy your weekend at your country place ?

All those staycationing somewhere, enjoy your breaks. Those with visiting family, have lots of fun, and those waving them goodbye - the time will rush past and you'll be together again soon. ?

Hope routers and washing machines and anything that needs fixing are fixed without delay. I've just returned a wonderful Hozelock spray for the garden hose. It has not only completely changed colour in the sunshine within about a month's use, but also, however I've tried, many of the spray settings are blocked and stop and start or fail totally. It's so much trouble sending things back, but maybe that is what manufacturers rely on these days. It's going back - and in the land where customer service is an unrecognisable phrase, I shall expect a replacement pdq!
