I am another one who never liked lollies that mixed icecream and fruit lolly. Also disliked the taste of those rectangular blocks of icecream, Wall’s I think, with paper or card around, that were put between 2 wafers or jammed into a square shaped hard cone, then the wrapping removed. Just disliked the taste of them. Remember being given one as a “treat” on a plate in hospital aged about 6 when I had my tonsils out to soothe my throat, and the staff being cross with me because I wouldn’t eat it.
The wafers from the Italian icecream shop in our village, Contis, used to be lovely, though. They had a gadget for wafers, put 1 biscuit in the bottom, then slathered icecream in, another wafer biscuit on top, then the base pushed up to release the icecream. But only the grownups could have wafers, as the melting icecream went down your front unless careful, the kids always had cones-with raspberry sauce as mentioned by previous posters!
