Yes Sybil has grown a little, and so she should with premium grade pilchards put down for her meals ?
Also she is a global star, being watched by ixion ‘s “little boys in Australia”. ?

Thank you for the latest photo and update on Sybil. She certainly looks well and has grown. Such a contrast to what her situation would have been like were it not for your care and attention BlueBelle.

Sybil has gone

She had a nice big meal of sardines at 7 pm last night it was a calm dry night but then ldidn’t come for her breakfast this morning I ve just come home from work and food hasn’t been touched
My garden is completely walled 5/6 ft high so she can’t have got out
I ve foraged in all the greenery, undergrowth, everywhere and no sign
There are no feathers no blood, no body so I m confident she’s not been killed or harmed and in fact no cats come in at the moment because of all the greenery (they like soil especially recently dug soil) and you can’t see an inch of soil in my garden
The only thing to give me hope is the mum is still on my roof but makes no screech when I come outside just sits there calmly looking at me
Exactly the same thing happened with Stephen he just disappeared after 8 days ( I looked in my diary and it was 8 days) Sybils been here 7 days tonight, and then Stephen (presumably Stephen ) came back down my chimney 2 weeks on and stayed with me until he flew ???
All I can say is there is no body no sign of a struggle and Mum is calm

Any ideas appreciated Does the mum wait to see if they are likely to live and worth saving ? If so how does she get them ?
A old chap told me before that they can fly with quite large things in their beaks or am I just kidding myself
I m as sure as I can be she’s not dead

I don't know much about seagulls but we have a lot of woodpigeons and they often fall out of the nest and even when they are quite big they manage to get back up into the hedge quite high up, could she have possibly done that? You have done all you can though she looked like she'd grown and she's in much better shape than she would have been if she'd have got stuck in the chimney x

How odd that this is a carbon copy of last year! I hope Sybil returns or you have some indication of where she is.

Fingers x that Sybil is safe somewhere. It would be more satisfying for you BlueBelle if you knew where she was though. Anyway, you did your very best for her.

I’m sure she is, especially given the lack of any (otherwise) telltale signs.

She didn’t know a good thing when she saw it whilst being cared for by you Bluebelle. ?

I ve been round and round the garden again today and there’s nothing out of place and not a feather anywhere so I do feel confident she’s not been killed but where she is I cannot imagine but I take comfort in the fact that her mum is still there in my sight but doesn’t squark at all when I come into the garden She’s quite calm and just looks at me where before she would flap her wings shoot her neck out and squark loudly
I feel she knows where she is but maybe that’s just wishful thinking…. I don’t know?

Has she managed to climb up to somewhere safe?

Years ago we watched a baby seagull climbing up a very steep roof back to its nest and its strength and perseverance was amazing.

Yes I feel that belladonna her mum was screeching every time I went into the garden, now she doesn’t, she’s quiet and calm, I suppose it could be just as simple as she is not hearing her babies squeaks and calling, I don’t know, I really don’t, but there’s nothing more I can do

No callistamom unfortunately she would have to climb a 6 ft wall don’t think even clever Sybil could manage that ?

Today when I got home from work this little Prince or princess greeted me Could it be Sybil back again ? They are the only family on my roof ? Wouldn’t it be wonderful if she just popped in to say hello it looks about the same stage of development but of course they re all at that stage but not all on my roof ?
Looks as if she should fly very soon, may have even come down whilst trying

I was just thinking about Sybil last night, when I read an article on our local seagulls and how noisy they are right now. Then I come onto GN and there’s news of Sybil! (It must definitely be Sybil, mustn’t it? )

My daughter has one on her conservatory roof fell out it’s nest but the mum is well aware and feeding it every day so apart from putting clean water out she is not doing anything
the mum is there every day

They’re very careless with their babies, Bluebelle, always falling out of nests!

Here I am cheering on Stephen and Sybil but I got very cross with their second cousin once removed Sion this morning - he had torn open our waste bag and spread rubbish all over the lawn and road in the vain hope of finding something edible (there wasn't).

?? callistemom we only have well behaved off spring round here (as she coughs behind her hand)
Well wether it’s Sybil or a sibling she’s just polished offa tin of sardines and a bowl of water

Are you going to put any sardines or water out BlueBelle?

Or put the empty dish where you used to and see if this seagull goes to it. As if she knows where to look for food.
