A long way from the start - how far away from your birth town do you live ?

I live 12 miles from my Birth Place. From central London to the Outskirts of London

I still live in my birth town. I have lived in my present home since I married in 1979 and live 1.2 miles from the house where I was actually born

I live about 5 miles away from the hospital where I was born and about 3 miles from the house we lived in till I was one year old (no bathroom!?)
I spent 3 years 35 miles away at a College of Education, then got a teaching post back home. I would have loved to move away, but I didn’t have the funds or the confidence or the contacts!

Now back in the city where I was born, grew up and lived in until I was almost forty. I lived 45 miles north, due to DH's work, for 29 years, but we moved back five years ago. DH died in December, so I'm more than happy to be here, nearer family and friends.

I live about 1/2 mile from the house that I was born in. I live a few doors away from my mum and dad. My sisters both live within minutes of us. I have lived in London for 10 years and in NZ for 3 years but there is no place like home.

Nanna8 interesting question. I'm 10,598km from where I was born. Looking at google maps, it's a 156 hour drive from where I am now living in France to where I was born in Northern Rhodesia. Needless to say, it is an 'epic journey' which I would love to complete one day.

Or do what my parents did - a road trip from Cape to Cairo. These days it is not safe but I'd love to do it.

I live about a mile as the crow flies from where I was brought up in Sheffield. Next valley on, we have 7 hills in Sheffield, we are on the edge of the Peak District National Park. I have lived here for 46 years although I did live in Nottingham whilst at Uni.

Not sure exactly but over 300 miles away. Born in Lancashire and moved between there, Kent, London and now Bristol several times over the years. Now been settled in Bristol for the last 20 years and no intention to move again.

67 miles, but have also lived in Scotland, Norfolk and the Midlands before settling in Notth Yorkshire after starting out in the NE

194 miles live in North Yorkshire from Bedfoŕdshire best thing we ever did!
