Reasons to be cheerful. ??

DH has just finished a six week course of radiotherapy so fingers crossed no more trips to Addenbrooke's for a few weeks.

A box of beautifully decorated cakes arrived for his birthday tomorrow from the DGCs, made by Positive Bakes. We got stuck in!!

My reason to be cheerful is being able to go out for a walk (exercise) even in lockdown. It’s amazing how, if you’re not allowed to do so (Spain, last year) you really, really want to!

Generally, along with Ashcombe and grandtanteJE65 - I'm grateful to be a retired teacher. This week, I rewatched a funny NY Eve clip that makes me laugh every time (mostly at the giggles of the hosts). And today, my son and DiL will be in town to take their car in and will be stopping by my place to wave from afar!

Today my 93 year old mother-in-law had her first coronavirus vaccination, and next Saturday my 89 year old Dad has an appointment to have his (different counties).
We are all very relieved and happy about this.

Reason to be cheerful? The cat finally did a poo! We'd been anxiously awaiting an 'outcome' and feared a blockage. Vet said next step would be investigative surgery. DH has been following poor Baz around for days.
It's the little things!

I’m cheerful this morning because the central heating is on and it’s a frosty morning outside. We’ve had no central heating for the past week as there was a leak in the system. All sorted now and cosy. Yippeee.

That my teeny tiny laundry has a new bench top and looks rather nice
That most of the time I am still rather partial my husband even though he retires July 2019 and for quite some time now we have been doing everything thing together.

Having two cups of tea in bed, cozy and warm - it was DH's turn to get up and make it so I get to have a lie in ?

I'm amazed and delighted at 83 to still be alive and in reasonable health.

Being able at 80 yo to live on my own, look after myself, walk my dogs cook and eat what and when I want. I'm still able to drive locally, cook for my family, bake, look after my small patch of garden, knit for charity. I won't go on any more.

to have a birthday today, so am happy!

I'm cheerful to be alive , not have covid and to have my family . Who could ask for more .

My children and GC all seem to be in extremely good state of health. Adults have work and children seem to be coping with daily changes. Also they are in regular communication with me which is amazingly thoughtful considering all the other pressures they each have.

Apart from the obvious - waking up healthy, with a roof over my head, heating and food in the fridge - I thoroughly enjoyed my weekly treat of a jam doughnut last night!

Mawbe thanks for the music. Had to get up and dance around to it! So feeling better already.

Just finished 'The Rat Catchers Olympics' by Colin Cotterill, one of the Dr Siri series. Has to be one of the very best and funniest books I've read in a long time.

Thankful that our daughter (who lives with DH and I) has been able to work from home during the pandemic and stay safe. And that we are all healthy and happy in each other's company! And we have 4 lovely cats that give us lots of fun and joy and cuddles.

My reason to be cheerful is although not in the best of health, I am very happily married have great family we are all alive and not succumbed to the virus, I have warm house food in the cupboards, what more could you want
