So here are some very tall lilies.
At Castle Kennedy Gardens I saw this tree. Anyone remember The Addams Family, Cousin Itt.
Ah, so that's what aerials are for! Must be lunchtime! That was before the rest of the flock arrived! The din they make is unbelievable.

This is not my photo, my son in law took it, but I thought it is a very ‘painterly’ sky. The lady in the foreground is DD. I didn’t have the heart to photoshop her out!
It’s lovely, bees are very clever aren’t they! Maybe less so this little chap who seems to have backed himself, or rather eaten himself, into a bit of a corner!
Morning everyone. I found this inside the roof of my little shed. It looked a little bit like a mushroom so I hooked it out with the rake.
I imagine it's been left by a solitary bee. It's only a little thing but I've never seen one before and found it fascinating.
This plant is an awful thug but the bees love it so much I don’t have the heart to pull it out!
In a little lull after a bit of a family fest. It was lovely to see them all but I have to admit that a quiet coffee at this favourite spot was very welcome today!

Yesterday I finally went over for a look at the Dianna statue - not too impressed I'm afraid to say, not least by the fact that it's in the Sunken Gardens to which the public have no access. The nearest you can get is from the gate behind the statue! The side views I zoomed in.
I suppose that's the nature of statues - they are larger than life as they are viewed from a distance.
Some flowers in the garden this week
When a friend died last year her daughter who isn’t a gardener offered me a couple of seriously struggling potted shrubs. They hadn’t been watered for a long while. The azalea didn’t survive, the hibiscus planted in a border is happy and healthy enough to begin to flower. I was so pleased to be able to send this image to her daughter.

One from a favourite walk of ours, made all the more special this week by having our son and his family with us for a few days.
