Good morning everyone from north Kent where it is grey and damp.

Hope to go out later for a walk; apart from supervisory visits to DH’s allotment I haven’t been anywhere this week and could do with a brief change of scene. Might have a wander around our local garden centre for some plants I want to put in to the garden.

Sounds like you have an excellent optician Lins.; best wishes for a speedy recovery. Best wishes as well to all who are under the weather and glad that Marydoll is getting back to her more normal self. Hope young Henry is soon feeling better. What a scary experience for you Auntieflo; hope you continue to feel better.

I have already had the bread maker on, washing done, cat litter changed! I was up at ridiculous oclock! Now its time for another cup of tea which my OH has just placed beside me, bless him!

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire where it is wet but quite mild.
Just back from walking the pooch.
I have set about trying to watch films that are rather iconic during this lockdown, that when I say I haven’t seen them, DS looks horrified! Last nights was The Green Mile and very good it was too. I wonder what this afternoon’s will be, any suggestions?
This morning I must brave B & Q to get brackets for the latest project so I can get it finished and show it off!! I do loath going out and about. Mick. I too cannot see much difference in traffic during this lockdown.
I have read all the post but now I have forgotten who I need to give a mention to, so I will say take care to ALL of my GM friends and stay safe❤️

Sars I'm sure your grandchildren will treasure the cross-stitches you've made for them. I treasure the one my fabulous SiL made me (she was 20 years older than me - I miss her very much) and it is on a wall in my home to this day ?

The market is on in the village today and I'd love to go but am too early. It can get quite busy as it's only on monthly. I haven't been since February and don't know when my next visit will be, not this side of the year that's for sure.
Some sewing for me today and piles of washing to get through ?

Christmas cakes not Chrustmas, hope they're not too crusty!

Good morning all, it's a dull, damp day here in Welyn, Herts. Just about to go for a "top-up" shop so hopefully not too much to carry!
It's been a busy week for me, started caring for DGS 2 days while our DIL returned to work (upstairs). He's been well behaved and took a good pm nap while I had a chance to rest so it was all good. Also was able to see DGD as I picked her up from nursery.
I made two small Chrustmas cakes when home one day so another job out of the way.
I wish everyone a good day in spite of the difficult times we're going through.

I started to write this, then jogged my arm and lost everything!
Thank you Marydoll for the flowers. Much appreciated. I have had a couple of days, unexpectedly, in hospital. I started out on Tuesday, just to get a VitB12 injection at the Dr's surgery, and ended up in an ambulance, blue lights, on the way to hospital. Luckily I was allowed home on Thursday, and finally had my injection on Friday.
Marydoll, letting it all out is good for us. I had a bit of a melt down on Wed, but one of the lovely young nurses, sat with me and talked to me like a dutch uncle, and eventually I felt better.
Beechnut, hope you get your book, I loved it.
Best wishes to Mr Lins, Kitty, and others mentioned here, who are having a tough time. I daren't trawl back again, as I might lose it all. Not good for blood pressure.
Fingers crossed for Pittcity that the house move goes ahead smoothly.
Our cupboards are nearly bare, so we will have to go out later this morning.

Good morning it’s a dull miserable day where we are on Merseyside. Our good friend woke up on Wednesday with an eye problem he rang the surgery and was told to go to Whiston hospital. He arrived and was given an appointment on Thursday for laser surgery. It was a detached retina he was back home within a couple of hours. That’s efficiency and especially in these difficult times.
I started painting the living room yesterday a lovely bumble bee yellow I intend to to carry on with it today. It’s hard work but it’s nice to see the results and it keeps my joints working otherwise they would cease up.

Gosh Lins what a day, so pleased to hear MrL received prompt attention.
We’ve got our online grocery shop to complete today. It’s my partner’s birthday on Tuesday so I will buy nice things to create a party for two (as we can’t go out).

I was part of the debacle yesterday on the Tesco website. Marydoll mentioned the chr***mas delivery slots in her post yesterday. I rushed on line, as I had been advised that existing customers would be able to book one on 13th November. (As a person classed as ‘clinically very vulnerable’, I have priority slots)
Anyway I got in a queue on Tesco’s site and waited ... and waited... and refreshed and waited ... for nearly three hours. My partner chimed up (after 2.5 hours), ‘should I log on and get in the queue too?’. Within 30mins, he had got a slot and I was still in the blinking queue!

Nevertheless we managed to book our delivery for each week from now until Chr***mas. So I can’t really complain.

Film night for us tonight, so a takeaway and a bottle of wine.

We have DGD here as Henry isn’t very well.He hasn’t been sleeping or eating, he is never a great eater, his severe allergies have made him very wary of food.

Pittcity,very exciting that you have found a house you like.Good luck with the sorting.We have advertised a few things we wanted to get rid of on Facebook marketplace as free to collector which has worked pretty well.

M&S microwave sh pie for dinner, have had excellent hot meals delivered by a local pub the last two evenings, might order a roast for tomorrow. DH May nip out to get paper in a minute, I enjoy the Saturday crosswords. Have a gentle day everyone.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a dreary, wet, South Yorkshire. Yesterday was a day where we did very little and today looks like being the same. DH was fighting the battle of Trafalgar on his jigsaw board and I spent far too much time on my iPad! I might make a cake today - we have bananas past their best. It’s not making it that is a problem, it’s eating it! SiL texted yesterday to say he has ordered the turkey for our Christmas dinner. I suppose we could all end up eating it in the woods sitting on a blanket, but I’ll take that as long as it’s not snowing!?. I’m looking forward to spending any time, anywhere, with them again.

It’s grey and damp here in Suffolk too. Another disturbed night, particularly DH, so a quiet day with two rugby matches. ?
Last night the fish was still frozen at cooking time so there was a trip to the Chinese which we really enjoyed, all the more for it being a surprise.
I can’t persuade DH that if something should have been used and is still in the fridge, freezing it is not a good idea. The original plan for yesterday was chicken but that is tightly tied up in a bin bag in the bin! Good job they are emptied on Monday.
Excited to hear about your house Pittcity - have you stayed in the same area? It all seems to have happened very quickly.

Good morning Mick and all. It’s so quiet out there after weeks of howling wind most nights, dry and dull.
Glad MrLins is having his eye sorted out quickly, sight is so important.
I suffered a bit of fuzziness on the outside of my right eye a week or so ago, scared me but seemed okay after a day of no screens. Made me realise how addicted I am to gransnet as I was suffering withdrawal symptoms and quickly drawn back in. I missed you all .
Your meet up sounds fun Urms, always nice to get to know new friends.
Marydoll don’t regret letting go a little, it does us all good to have a little whinge sometimes and then feel the warm glow of a big gransnet hug around us, gives us the strength to go on, and you certainly got a big hug, you popular lady you.
I thought I might go skiing later after a nice hot chocolate in the mountain top cafe, and then remembered I’m not in Switzerland and nor would I know how to ski.
Oh well, a book and a game of scrabble with Orlin it is then.

Kittylester ? and a large bottle of red wine. Families can cause us joy and upset in equal measure. Pittcity that's excellent news about your new house. Will you be in before Christmas? Marydoll sometimes a good vent is what is needed. You can be comforted that the lovely people on this thread will be listening and offering virtual flowers and hugs.
I'm doing very little today as my stomach problems reoccurred during the night so I've been up and down like a fiddler's elbow. I shall potter and the highlight of the day will be a tesco delivery, bringing food and some Christmas stuff. I hope you all have a good day.

Good morning from a grey and rainy Black Country.

Had a surprise yesterday. There was a knock at the door and someone had a meal for us from M & S. The lady had a mask on so Partner didn't realise who it was at first. It was his ex-wife sister ( I had never met her). She had been asked by his daughters to buy and deliver it to us, so we can have a meal to celebrate the fact he officially retired that day! So kind of her, as she had to come from Birmingham. Sad that we couldn't even invite her in for a cuppa! Starter is mussels which I have never eaten before, so that will be interesting!

Had a lovely long video chat with two friends in the morning. We should be on our way today to Stamford so we could see the friend who lives there. Not actually seen her in the flesh since November last year.

Wishing your DH well Lins for today, what prompt service by our wonderful NHS.

Grey and damp in our bit of North Somerset and the dogs walkers in the field at the back have their heads down against the wind, so I think we will have an indoor day. We will watch “Easter Parade” on BBC2 this afternoon as a bit of light relief to lift our spirits which sorely need it.

Lots of worries on this thread today so thinking of all our GM friends have the best day possible.
