I am starting my birthday reading ... with the latest Inspector Rebus. ? I have a haircut scheduled for 10.30 and then on line groceries to order.

Good morning Mick, morning everyone. It’s a grey day here in S Lanarkshire, such a change from yesterday. Nothing much happening today, I’ll potter and faff my way through the day no doubt.

Good Morning everyone from brilliantly blue and sunny S of France. The gales took the hint and they’ve finally left, so we shall be walking next to the Med’ later.......just as soon as DH has returned with the supermarket haul. Such fun...not.

Of course you can construct a book box, Scentia - after that garden swing, we shall await a nice photo! Feel sad for you, Mattie it will be strange but if he’s happy and fulfilled on the other side of the world, know you will only be glad for him.

Sorry your pain has been so bad lately, Mary, have a better weekend. Same for those waiting for tests and the long delays for results. I feel so lucky here that we have most results instantly - at the appointment, in our hands and with a run-through from the specialist concerned. ‘In our hands’ does involve always carrying and taking responsibility for storing the wretched things at home, of course. I have a whole shelf of x-rays, scans, discs etc., in the study....but at least I can never be told they’ve gone astray!

Yesterday received notification that we could pick up our flu shots at the pharmacy. Form stamped to hand to Dr or Nurse, and we were handed the vaccine for fridge storage at home. Not seeing my Doc soon, so will ‘phone one of the local Nurses to come and administer. We pay a small fee for that and can say when, so it really suits us. Went without my scrip’ for Vit D., so will have to go back for that. We both normally take this each month through the winter. Seems it might now help against COVID, so will carry on with the advice.

Sorry Ruby-Lou’s visits are on hold, Ellan. Thank goodness she’s old enough to understand.

I will have to find some warmer clothes to put on. I predict coats to be the main fashion item this winter with people meeting outdoors, coordinating winterweight facemasks and shooting sticks rather than walking sticks....

That is awful Annapops about you poor DBiL. May he make a good recovery and have some joy in his life again.

A dull, but dry day in prospect. Could do with washing the nets in the kitchen as where the window is open the net starts going brown, but the other half remains snow white ?

Like Georgesgran I woke up with what mum would have said " a black pig on my back " ( grumpy )
One or two nights when I've turned over I've had the most sickening pain in the top of my right arm. It feels for all the world as though the arm has slid out of the shoulder socket. In fact, it's excruciating when it happens. The pain hits me right in the gut.

Thankfully it doesn't happen all the time but it's enough to wake me. What a nuisance. Just before I'm settled, so I must remember not to change positions. I've never injured it nor fallen so I guess it's a loosening tissue ( age ) Ah well.
Probably all the heavy shopping in my younger years when I always used to be laden and got the nickname " the bag lady ".

Sun's out now would you believe, so I'll gather a bit of washing along with the nets and get cracking.
There's a lovely smell of burning leaves but I hope it goes before I hang the washing out or the clothes will smell.

I hope all goes well for those with tests/results and appointments which remain to be an issue at the moment but are as important as not catching Covid.

The usual quiet day for me but my philosophy is that if I don't stray I can't catch anything can I ? Nobody around. Haven't seen most of the GGC since February/March. Come next year they won't know who I am.

Good Morning all from dismal Harrogate. My morning so far has not gone to plan!! DH left before 9 am to get his flu jab, then the dog decided she needed to go out - so I had to stand in the garden getting totally frozen in my goonie while she ate grass and was then sick (poor wee thing). I desperately wanted a shower, so went back in the house but she wanted out again and again started eating grass again and again was sick - she is a scavenger and on walks there's no telling what she will clean off the streets. We'd just got back in the house when DH arrived back so he took madam out for a walk and I had my shower!!
Anyway, after that I am about to enjoy my coffee!!
For anyone with problem I hope there is a quick improvement.

Good morning. Only 5 degrees here in north Scotland. All the outside things I am going to do for today are done, autumn tidying, a little pruning and a short walk. The rest of the day is mine to do as I wish although there are cupboards to be tidied which will be liking at me accusingly. There are dozens of different fungi at the sides of the paths. I have no idea what they are and might spend an hour identifying them. I also have a jumper, completed but not sewn up. My nana used to do that when she came to stay with me. Yesterday’s bramble jelly turned out well. These tasks are soothing when the world seems in turmoil.
To all with aches and pains, hope things improve. To those of you who are carers, you all deserve a medal and don’t forget to look after yourselves. Off to read the thread and have brunch. ? th all.

Many thanks to those who have wished my BIL well. We have only recently reconnected after the death of his second wife. Previous to that it had been my Mum who had still held closely onto the link. My sister (his first wife) died from cystic fibrosis 40 years ago now and spent her last year clinging to her oxygen mask. I can imagine what my BIL is going through now must be bringing those scenes vividly back into his mind, as it is mine. How we take every breath we take for granted until something like this hits us. Once again, thank you to you kind people who have so many troubles of your own.

Good morning from Kent where it is overcast but dry at the moment. Stayed in bed a bit longer this morning- I’m up every two hours during the night for loo breaks! Don’t think I’ve ever slept longer than four hours.
Exciting evening planned - I’m having an MRI for the first time . Follow up to ultrasounds in July and August. I have an ovarian cyst at age 65! Fingers crossed it’s nothing sinister. I did have the Ca125 blood test so low risk of cancer but.... Until I get the report, there is always that wee voice at the back of my heid.
DH is going to Tesco while I’m at the hospital. Must check my Bring shopping app is up to date. Marydoll saw you use it too, great idea.

Good afternoon everyone, sorry for being so late, I've got a note for teacher though!
Its been one of those days today, doorbell. phone calls, and a split bin bag (all over the kitchen floor!) to name but a few things. Anyway onwards with the day!

Secondly to the other GMer Dwmxwg who I spent quite a long time PMing backward and forward yesterday wasnt that all spooky? We found quite a few connections between us!
