When this virus is over I should like to visit more Churches and Cathedral.

I thought this picture of a stained glass church window would bee appropriate for this time of year.
Considering we probably wont be going to a carol service any time soon!

Wells Cathedral is lovely. My husband sang there in the choir last year. The scissor arches make it magical.

Thinking Cathedrals these are from Hereford. Seems an age ago, only last year.

They're colourful windows.

They all count! I love any kind of stained glass but the only offerings I have are these I took at Cragside last year. They are on either side of a fireplace built into an arch.

Here’s a photo of Chartres Cathedral, taken on a fine day last January.

Forgot to say - they are the four seasons by William Morris and my photos don’t do them justice.

Crikey Ashcombe my husband loved that one. He sang in Chartres Cathedral too!!

The Morris autumn window is my favourite.

Ashcombe, lovely to see a pic of the cathedral at Chartres, I read a book a couple of yeas ago, The Cleaner of Chartres, and it set me wondering about the place.

Here are my humble offerings from Canterbury Cathedral.

First batch yesterday.

They look good, Ellianne. I must get on with mine. While we are on a culinary theme, here’s the cake I made for SiL’s birthday.

Pretty cake. Caramel or coffee?

Both! Coffee on the sides and in the middle and salted caramel on the top!

I heard a thump. Went into the kitchen to find the impression of a bird on the window. I went outside to see if the bird was okay, but there was no sign of it, so it must have flown away. I hope you can see the image in the photograph.

They do hit the window with a loud smack, don't they, and I never know if they're ok afterwards when there is no sign of a body.

It's normally a pidgeon that leaves the dusty 'ghost' on the window minimoon.

Love the photo of Canterbury Hellogirl1, but I think its a shame so many churches and cathedrals have taken their pews out.

Well, I finally went to see it in the flesh today - my sister lives nearby.

I have to say despite myself I rather like it - the lower part seems to be an amalgam of female shapes and it's interesting to see it from all angles, walking around.

I still don't quite 'get' the tiny figure of a woman, but if you can enlarge the photo you'll see it's quite, despite the pert breasts, androgynous - sort of Germanic and echoes of Leni Riefenstal.

I'm not sure what to say about the statue Riverwalk but I like the angle of your photos against the bare trees and the sky.
