This puzzle is driving us all crazy!!

It's all to do with the order you do the calculations. Try and follow the mathematical rules.

It's has all been explained by a number of previous posters.

I had never heard of BODMAS, is that the same as you Gillybob? No, too young ??

I think all of us who left school in the early 50's should have been rounded up and given a refreshers course.

It has been agreed and the calculation shown upthread, the answer is 43.

Been told the correct answer is 43.
Last row man with trainers, holding laces, do multiplication bit of sum first.

After much debate, the answer 43, was given pages back. ?
Part of the challenge is to explain how you got there.
