But firstly CH and I send our heartfelt thoughts to morethan and her family. What else could give more angst than this terrible situation - and puts into perspective my own trivial concerns.

Secondly thank you for all the lovely messages. I feel supported and valued.

I was upset about an incident recently but did not post details - merely wrote about Alzheimers and the reaction of some towards me when I am confused. However, I have now had a most moving letter from the manager of the pool where we swim telling me that they have investigated the incident and have banned the family concerned from the premises. The Manager and his staff (two of whom witnessed the verbal onslaught against me ) have been wonderful throughout. Interestingly at the time I was quite passive, but rather in awe as to how many expletives could be used in a 2-3 minute period. As a veteran of many an altercation in A/E when working there, I think this one took the biscuit.

Other news - we missed out on the apartment - there will be other opportunities i am sure and CH's vision continues to deteriorate. We are awaiting a decision between specialist consultants to decide a way forward.

I have instigated a handwashing station at the kitchen door. A large sink with no hands taps, sweet smelling soaps for gently ladies (hypo allergic or vegan alternatives also available), soft disposable towels and a dream clean team to keep things shipshape. I shall oversee but could do with a deputy for when discombobulated or on hospital runs.

That's it for now as I am quite fatigued today but as ever TOYA

Just had a massive hailstorm here which is still lying white in places in the garden. Phoebe, my little cat, is crying for me to make it go away so she can go outside. I need my super powers!!!

Nannytopsy I know what you mean about whether you will like your new glasses. Not wanting to put you off but I frequently wish I had chosen other frames once I get them home.

Well, off to do an intense conditioning treatment on my hair which takes fluffiness and frizz to the utmost limits in wild and windy weather! I once went underground into the Roman Baths in the city of Bath, where it's very humid with the hot springs. I went down with a straightened bob and came out with a full Afro!

morethan, your dgc look so lovely and sounds so loving. A friend who died while her children were young said the worst part was not knowing how her boys would grow up. I hope she knows they are fine young men now.

Am I the only person who finds badgers slightly freaky? We are fairly sure that we have a visiting fox as the trellis we put up last summer has been broken.

I'm so tired but I just had to pop by. My post on Monday was a bit erratic, so apologies for that. When we were coming home from shopping I had a blasted seizure. It really took it out of me. I have intractable epilepsy and sometimes bang followed by confusion. I still feel foggy but wanted to come by and say hi and to tell you I am thinking of you and your family morethan. Your granddaughters are clearly wonderful loving girls and their lovely nature shines from that photograph. As a newbie, I don't know all the details about your Dil's illness but my own father was terminaly ill during my childhood (died when I was 6) and all I wanted to when he was ill was give him all the love in my heart. To be with him when he was up to it, help in the way a child of 5 or 6 could do. The love I received in return was a bounty I have to this day. The love that surrounds your beautiful family is evident. Love is the most important thing in the world and I send some of mine to you ❤️.

Well it's not easy Sparklefizz. I have to close the patio doors so he can't run back in and chase him around the roof terrace in order to apply the sun screen.

You're right about them having us wrapped around their little paws chicken. Dylan has a hammock that hangs off the radiator in our kitchen/diner. Being hairless he craves the warmth so at night, I turn the radiator up a notch so I know he'll be warm enough. Don't tell Mr. S. (shhhhhh).

I know, the thought of a sun burned cat tickles me too Namsnanny. At one time I had 5. Where we used to live Mr. S. built an outside pen they could access from the conservatory. Now that was a job, sun screening 5 cats!!!

That was very naughty of MacSporran soop, depriving us of the shortbread.

I too echo eazybee post.

We had badgers here munching away on peanuts for years. We never had any disruption in the garden by them at all.

They would still be visiting us, but we made a deliberate decision to stop putting out the peanuts because we had a bad case of rats in the woodpile! So in an effort to deter them, feeding the badgers had to stop.

But that photo by Galen has made me think again. Perhaps I can be less gung-ho and bring the peanuts that aren't eaten in at bedtime? Therefore not giving the rats any chance to dine alfresco!

We are staying overnight in Brecon, we haven't spent a night away since Dec '18, so we feel like we are on holiday ?. We drove over the Brecon Beacons this morning, the scenery was spectacular and we were treated to the sight of a spectacular rainbow over Pen Y Fan. The roads were noticeably quieter than normal.
As we parked the car the first people we saw were two Gurkhas. I have a soft spot for the Gurkhas, indeed any man in uniform!
We are going out for a meal shortly, hope everyone will have a pleasant evening. TOYA ?

I'm away for today. I fully intend to return tomorrow. The only ironing to be done, is my own. It can wait.

. Baker has just had another little snack before trotting upstairs to rest his eyes. No, change that, he's come down again for a few more cat biscuits! No doubt one of his willing slaves will have to go and let him out---no cat flap as Dd's cats would be in like a shot for what they could scroungers.
