Good morning from Derbyshire.
DD2 has left for work so I'm going to do a couple of jobs before I set off home. Lovely evening with DGS on his birthday.
Oldgaijin sending love and peace. Thank you for being our friend here on GN. We will miss you.
Hope today is kind.

Oldgaijin so very sorry to read your post. My thoughts and love are with you. Xxx

GrannyGravy13 Thu 30-Jan-20 07:42:14

Oldgaijin so sorry, sending you virtual love and hugs flowers

Curlywhirly Thu 30-Jan-20 07:41:29

Mary, I too have just read your post regarding Oldgaijin and was stunned - I really didn't think she would be going into a hospice so soon. How brave that lady is and how utterly tragic to have to write that last post. So, so sad.

MawB Thu 30-Jan-20 07:40:17

In tears at oldgaijins message. How trivial all the sniping and backbiting elsewhere is.
Safe journey, dear friend ?

Beechnut Thu 30-Jan-20 07:35:01

Very sad ?

Kalu Thu 30-Jan-20 07:34:56

Good morning fro Glasgow

Oh no, Oldgaijin You are very much in my thoughts and it is with great sorrow to have to say goodbye to you. For your sake, may you find peace soon ?x

Mary just read the post about Oldgaijin how very very sad. ?

Morning Mick and All.

I think we have a sunny morning in store here in South Bucks.

We are going to our favourite coffee shop this morning and then will scour the charity shops for a nice picture frame as our DGS, the eldest, has been congratulated in the village magazine for his footie skills. He FaceTimed us last night and we had to pretend we didn’t know his news. It was so lovely to see his happy, animated face whilst he read the article. We thought he would like to hang the article on his bedroom wall.

Mary do hope your journey into Glasgow is not too bad.

Ginny I bought myself a vitamin tonic from Boots recently whilst recovering from pleurisy. Maybe some tonic would help you too.

Hoping for better news from the Gillybobs and also to hear that the internal work has been finished at Oldgaijin’s home.

Marydoll Thu 30-Jan-20 07:25:55

Dear friends, oldaijin has posted on the Wednesday thread by mistake.

I'm going to paste it here. It's the saddest thing I have ever read.

Good morning from dark Aberdeen. This may be my last post as am waiting for a bed in local hospice...it’s the last stage in this horrible disease. Goodbye friends.

oldgaijin, what a dark day for the GM crowd. I'm in tears, writing this.
We shall miss you and hearing about the mutt's adventures. God bless you and bring you peace from all your pain.

Good morning Mick and everyone from Cheshire. A spa evening Scentia? That sounds like bliss.

Not sure what the weather's like, but phone says it's 7C out there. I feel a bit better today, so I'm going to painting club. Can't say what's wrong, as I don't have any symptoms except my get up and go has got up and gone.

Painting, then the hairdresser's. An artist is coming to talk this morning and I don't want to miss that.

Hope those really poorly are feeling a lot better and the gillybobs are getting good care. Spring is on the way!

Marydoll Thu 30-Jan-20 07:00:45

Good morning Mick and all from a very dark Glasgow, a bit warmer at 8C, at least we missed the snow which had been forecast.

I'm off out early to yet another hospital appointment, which involves a drive to the station, train and then a bus
I wouldn't even attempt to drive in Glasgow now, as it's full of bus lanes and a new reactive traffic lights installation is causing chaos on our route, before we even reach the motorway.

There is usually at least a 90minute delay at this clinic, so I hope we get out in time to have a nice lunch.

Dragonfly, I hope you are feeling a bit better today and there is some improvement in Mr Gillybob's condition.
oldagin, Kalu, and all the other patients, flowers.

Have a good day, everyone.

Good morning all!
Watching "Bing" on my iPad with DGS snuggled up to me!
Another 30 mins snooze might have been nice too, but hey, what's not to like?
Wishing you all a pleasant day!

NannyJan53 Thu 30-Jan-20 06:57:56

Good Morning from a cold and damp Black Country.

Had a lovely lunch out yesterday with Mum and SIL.

Today is a day at home with housework and ironing on the agenda. I will also make a Lasagne to take to DD's on Saturday as I am looking after the girls all day while her DH works and she has an all day celebration for a friends 40th. Will take them to the cinema or ice skating, probably both smile

Thinking of gilly and her DH. Also, Dragonfly Marydoll and Oldgaijin

Scentia Thu 30-Jan-20 06:37:50

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire. It is dark but cold here this morning. Off out to do an early delivery before work and more deliveries. It is always the same at the end of the month.
I have a spa evening today so looking forward to that.
Take care everyone and have the best day possible.

kittylester Thu 30-Jan-20 06:32:26

Morning all. I have no idea what it's like outside as it's still dark. Up early as DH has a meeting in London which necessitates an early train. I say 'up' - what I mean in drinking tea while he gets ready!

Sainsbury's, butchers and hairdresser for me today.

Wishing everyone a good day, especially our gilly and her husband. Hoping that dragonfly is feeling better too.

Beechnut Thu 30-Jan-20 06:15:06

Good Morning everyone where it’s dark and wet on Severnside.

I’ve a bit of admin to do today and then I’ll do some crafting.

Look after yourselves and enjoy the day ?

Nannytopsy Thu 30-Jan-20 06:13:55

Morning Mick. You are up early this morning! It is dark still and I can hear the wind this morning. I had a very effective day yesterday clearing brambles. Now I need to dig out the roots, which won’t be quite as easy!
Hope everyone has as good a day as possible.
