Goodmorning Mick and all x

It's beginning to brighten up here in SE Essex.

It's very quiet here this morning as our little GS went home last night, he was so excited that his baby brother and mummy are home. I had a lovely long cuddle with baby while DD made a fuss of GS.

Off to the gym this morning, it's good to get back into a routine it takes your mind off of things.

I hope you all have a good Wednesday, keep safe and be good!!!

Greyduster Wed 08-Jan-20 08:41:53

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Glad your computer is up and running Mick. A dull grey start in South Yorkshire this morning, and rain later probably. We are not going far today; DH is taking over the kitchen to tackle his first pie. He assures me that he needs no assistance from me, so I won’t offer any. I will just wait.......?.
Sad to hear about Gilly’s ongoing dental dilemmas - nothing worse.

Good morning from a grey, blustery Aberdeenshire.

Had a visit from my lovely MacMillan nurse yesterday, who is going to set some things in motion like restore my blue badge and try to get attendant allowance. Apparently, the DWP considers it a privilege to have to dig into a meagre pension to pay for help needed and having not up to standard eyesight for driving does not qualify you for a blue badge. If you live in the country, how are you supposed to get to hospital appointments etc? You can't rely on friends forever. End of rant.

Anyway, on the brighter side, she has arranged some morphine from the GP, so feeling less pain will allow me to get more done.

The mutt has a mega walk yesterday with a friend and was a knackered wee boy for the rest of the day so we shall go to the woodies soon and meet all his chums...he is a very sociable wee hound and plays with any dog, irrespective of size!

Have a peaceful day.

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Good Morning. It is a bright morning for once.it may not last but it is not grey skies.
This is the latest I have slept for ages. I feel less tired.
Its 9 am. Time I got dressed.
Have a good day.

Good morning from a grey but dry NE.
Spent yesterday at our home in Cumbria and removed the last items before the sale is completed. Buyers said they would keep the furniture so only portable stuff has been removed. Temperature was 15 degrees at 7pm, amazing.
Quiet day today and perhaps a fish and chip lunch out. We seem to have eventually cleared the festive food.
Best wishes to all those feeling poorly, sorry to hear gilly still hasn't got the tooth sorted.

Good morning all from a dreich Glasgow as Marydoll says.

Hope your meds. give you much needed improvement Marydoll?

Well done repairing your computer glitch Mick. My technical knowledge when the lap top has a wobble is to turn it off at the wall, switch it on again. Hanging my head in shame?

Hope your MacMillan nurse is successful oldgaijin. Enjoy your walk in the woodies with the mutt and tell him to stay away from muddy bits or he’s back in the bath although if he is anything like my dogs, they thoroughly enjoyed a good scrub.

Hoping you have a more positive day gilly. Surely someone must have a solution to your dental problem.

Hope all have a good day and a better day for those having problems to deal with.

GrannySomerset Wed 08-Jan-20 09:38:36

Off to WI coffee morning shortly, but otherwise a domestic day. Lunch out yesterday was excellent but DH tired today. He ate an enormous lunch, though, at least twice of his normal intake, so obviously being sociable is good for him.

Thinking of Marydoll, Gilly and all those struggling with pain, anxiety and unhappiness.

Good morning from the Shropshire borders.Another dull day.
I am feeling better each day and hopefully DH is beginning to improve too,
Not doing much today, just laundry and reading.
Our little grandson has started nursery today. He is going two mornings a week.He went in very happily but when our daughter said goodbye he got very upset.I am sure he will be fine but am looking forward to hearing how it went.
Sending much love to gilly.I hope you have managed to get a referral for your tooth and that your DH is continuing to improve.x

Good morning everyone,

Greyduster has the forecast spot on for here. I wish it would brighten up a bit.

Going on a hunt for my old yoga mat later - it's not where I thought it was so hope I haven't thrown it away. I'm starting Pilates this week (I need to get fit), and though mats will probably be provided, I'd like to find it if I can. I can see the foam blocks I also had, so it must be somewhere near them!

Not a lot planned for today, but SiL's calling round this evening.

I do hope you've got that appointment, gilly and they sort out that infection from your tooth once and for all. Their dealings with it have been abysmal overall. Hope Mr g had a more restful night, too.

Enjoy your day all, and anyone unwell, I hope you feel a little better today.

Good morning from a positively balmy Essex. School run today and then woodland walk with DGS2. We spotted so many squirrels and birds nests. Then home to play with Xmas toys so will enjoy that; may even let DGS join in?
Good wishes to Gillybobs today and anyone with worries or troubles xxx

Good Morning All x
Dry, still and trying to show brightness here and there.
Got carried away with pottering and collected washing along the way so that's doing at the moment though I don't think there'll be much drying out.

Step-D rang me last night saying how ill she'd been and I told her I'd been the same and must have caught the " bug " from each other as she was with me over Christmas so we snivelled and coughed our way through the conversation.

A slight abatement of the lurgy but it's left me drained and doing more sitting than I'd like but I'll have to be patient and let it take its course ( 2nd week ) Just a quick local shop as I need cat food and a loaf, that's all.

I keep thinking of Gillybob and her on-going pain. I'd have been driven barmy by now, poor soul xx Hope Mr G is alright too.
Susan56, glad there's some improvement with yourself and DH these things take that much longer to overcome now sad

Everyone else try and avoid these lurgies and things as it knocks you sideways. Mick, glad the comp. is sorted, they're a pain when something goes wrong. I " lost " my Ebay account mid-December and can't retrieve it, their fault not mine----that's all the thanks I got for being a good customer over the years.

Must brush my hair---it's like wild mint. Careful how you go everyone and enjoy the day.

Good morning from a grey Market Harborough. Late night and late breakfast.

Husband is sorting out his mam’s funeral with the help of his brother, so much to do.

I’m going to have my mammogram this afternoon at the hospital then home to make some Scotch Broth with crusty bread for tea.

Sending love to Gillybob and her husband. Hope she gets her tooth problem sorted soon. Also love to everyone suffering today, feeling low or just plain fed up!

Auntieflo Wed 08-Jan-20 11:47:33

Good morning Michael, Annie and all. Well done Mick for sorting out your computer glitch.
I had a clinic appointment at 9.00 am this morning. A shock to the system to be up and out so early, but made it in good time. I did think I might get caught by the level crossing and be delayed.
Then while I was out, I made an appointment to have my eyes tested and to pick up my prescriptions.
I also took back the, now superfluous, can opener, so don't have to find room for a spare.
Hoping that Gillybob is alright and has managed to get her poor sore mouth sorted out.
Have a good day one and all.

EllanVannin Wed 08-Jan-20 11:53:27

Oldgaijin, just reading your post about the stingy DWP and to say how disgusted I am at their attitudes towards those genuine people who've been struggling through a dreadful time such as yourself and other cancer sufferers.

I feel very strongly indeed that they dare to play God in their decisions to " choose " who needs help. The GP should be the first port of call in contacting the department should anyone need extra financial help.
I hope you get the satisfying answer that you so deserve.

KatyK Wed 08-Jan-20 11:54:01

Good morning from my part of the West Mids. Today is considerably better than yesterday. DH is in remission from prostate cancer and yesterday we were at the hospital as it was suspected that it may have come back. We had a horrible, scary day. It hasn't come back. Hooray and phew! smile wonderful NHS.

Mapleleaf Wed 08-Jan-20 12:08:22

Oh, what a relief for you and your DH, KatyK. You must have been so worried. I'm glad to hear that the news is good. ?

KatyK Wed 08-Jan-20 12:11:54

Thank you Mapleleaf We've had this hanging over us for three months. I didn't want to post on here as I always seem to have a tale of woe.

BladeAnnie Wed 08-Jan-20 12:17:45

A bit late for good morning - but good afternoon from a very grey mid-notts. Thinking of all who are poorly or have other worries. A quiet day for me - still not completely right from an operation followed by septic shock 22 months ago. Such is life as the saying goes and difficult as things often are - I am ALWAYS grateful I'm here ?

EllanVannin Wed 08-Jan-20 12:40:59

KatyK never worry about posting your " tales of woe ". I've yet to meet anyone whose life is woeless x

KatyK Wed 08-Jan-20 12:49:28

Thank you Ellan
