I squashed 2 this morning and got blood stains on the wall, so they'd bitten someone! I live in northern Spain.

Get yourself some Tea Tree Oil. It's dilutable (with a carrier oil such as almond) and is great for easing itchybites and repelling the little beggars.

Yes, of course, the constant rain is probably what it is, and the mildness.

we were amazed to see a few at DD1 in Surrey last week... it's just been too warm

Yes, have seen a couple and the little blighters got me!

It's the mild weather.

I live on an island too. But never seen or been bitten by one in Winter in the UK. You must live in the Deep South lol.

Poppyred, yes, it’s really common here, in the South, to get them in summer, but never seen them in winter before.

Maybe its the mild weather, although 'they' do keep saying we're due some snow.

Yes, they are bigger than usual. Normally I don’t notice them until I’m bitten, the little swines!

MissAdventure Sun 05-Jan-20 16:05:58

Yep. I do live on an island though.

In the UK??

MissAdventure Sun 05-Jan-20 16:03:48

I had one in my flat a few days ago - a big one, too!

Strange question, but has anyone got mossies? I woke on New Years Day, to find two itchy bites on my leg! Have since killed a couple in the house. I can honestly say it’s a first for this time of year.
