Having been referred for surgery, I have an appointment this Saturday at a local hospital for my preoperative assessment.
This week I've had two phone calls and two text messages asking if I'll be attending, this afternoon I had another call to check I'll be there...during that call, the person said to me ' you'd be amazed at the number of people who don't come to appointments'. She also said that each failed appointment costs in the region of £150.
Am I wrong to be astonished by this?
In these days of waiting lists etc, why on earth would people just fail to attend?!!
I appreciate some could have emergencies but rearrange!
