Sign of things to come?

Where I live, all the student housing has labour posters in the window. I have had 5 leaflets from Labour compared to one from each of the other parties ( bye-bye trees). I have had a canvasser from Labour and Conservative. Conservative and Lib-Dem candidate both answer emails, Labour does not answer email or tweet. I really don’t know which way to vote because I can’t believe any of them.

I live on a fairly busy road, we have had numerous leaflets from all parties but in all the years I have lived here not one candidate has knocked on my door. I think they only call when cameras are around so they get on tv ?

As I'm about to go out in the pouring rain to deliver my last batch of Lib Dem leaflets before the election (I hope!), I am a little disheartened by the poster who said "lots of leaflets from the Lib Dems - they must be desperate!"
I guess we are desperate - desperate to stop Brexit irrecoverably damaging our country before it's too late

Btw, we've had all 3 main parties canvassing on our road and the posters around town are mostly Lib Dem, with a few Tory and virtually no Labour.

How fortunate you still have a field near you where banners can be placed.The once 'green and pleasant' in my area are now either shopping centres or housing estates.

If I were suspicious by nature, I might suspect sabotage if only one of the posters is still firmly in place.

Update- just had another 2 leaflets from our labour candidate. Saying the same as all the other leaflets-what a waste of paper and she STILL hasn’t responded the questions in my emails and tweets.

All I've seen where I live are labour posters and a smattering of libdem and they have been the only parties canvassing.

The Labour and Tory candidate has called at my house, not the Lib Dem candidate, but the leaflets from the Libs are driving me mad.

Well I guess the party led by a spoilt man child had to be good at something.

Safe Tory strong held seat here, must of used superglue to keep those posters on the fences in village where the MP lives as there are none anywhere else. We haven't been able to get them out for at least 20 years or more and no other party bothers to fight.

Some of us will try but we don't have a hope in hell.

I've had a few leaflets but have not seen anyone canvassing. I get the impression that, because the public are so disillusioned with politics and the referendum, no-one is keen to face the flack on the doorstep. The weather has also come out in sympathy.

Libdem constituency, but we've had a leaflet most days. People now going on Nextdoor and pleading for them to stop!

I've only had one doorstep canvasser - Lib Dem, but they couldn't answer a simple question, How can they be a democratic party when they are openly campaigning against the result of a democratic vote? That puts LD out of the race for me. If I have a visit between now and Thursday from either of the remaining two, maybe one of them can convince me that they are the best party to vote for.

Nancat, I would have said that the Lib Dems are only calling to revoke Article 50 because they have not been able to secure another vote on Brexit (which they have campaigned and asked for since 2016).
Because of all the lies and irregularities in the referendum campaign, and because of all the information that has since come to light, a People's Vote is a sensible reconfirmation before taking such an irreversible step.
Article 50 would only be revoked if the Lib Dem party were in government, and if that were to happen it would be because the majority of people voted for it - therefore totally democratic.

Sorry GrandmaKT but democracy is honouring the result of a vote, not keep having further votes until the result you want happens!

In the village where I lived the local landowner had conservative posters in all his fields lining the road. Over a dozen in all. In the village someone put a poster in his garden saying 'Fields don't vote, people do'. Vote Labour.' Mind you this was 1997.

We just have quicksand signs in our fields. Someone walking their dog actually sunk last year.

I'm not sure what moral argument that makes. Maybe don't walk your dog on quicksand? Who knows?

No signs around where I live, though leaflets through the letterbox from all. This evening I had a Conservative canvasser at my door.

It’s very obvious from this GE, the last one and the EU referendum that people who feel the Tories are even faintly more in line with their own interests and feelings are afraid to say so - even to anonymising pollsters - for fear of bring accused of being evil, selfish, racist, war-mongering etc etc. Whereas Labour and LibDem voters feel much more confident that they have moral superiority on their side so are proud to display their voting intentions.
I am not saying either is right - just observing. It does tend to explain why fields vote Tory.
