Does anybody make their own Christmas Pudding and Mince Pies any more?

All of my friends just buy theirs now.

I still make my own Christmas Pudding (Mum's old recipe) - which takes 15 hours to boil, and along with the ingredients, costs way more than a shop-bought one. (But tastes so much better - in fact, I would boast that I make the best Christmas Pudding in the world!)

I still make, and freeze, my mince-pies ready for the 'big day'. (Home-made pastry of course!)

I couldn't do anything else - it just wouldn't seem like Christmas!

We learned how to make all these at school. The pudding seems too troublesome so I've never made it at home.
I've massively gone off all of them and prefer lighter fare these days.

I didn’t make myself very clear. The fridge in the garage is an old one, not working. I use it to store jams, chutneys, empty jars etc with the door slightly ajar. It just looks smarter, and cooler than in the house.I keep checking the puds, hopefully not mouldy. Thank you for your advice, made perfect sense if the fridge was running.
