Which country would you choose to live if you couldn’t live where you are?

Wales. I love England but Wales is beautiful

Canada, Holland and Belgium come top of my list.

I would go back and live in Menorca which I did and loved it ...then moved to France ….for several years ...would not go back to France ! Would be unable to live in Canada, Australia or New Zealand as would never be accepted due to lack of sufficient money to keep me away from their health care so they are out ...funny that when they were offering £10 fares 50 years ago (I was accepted but was not 21 so my dad would not sign the forms ) and now they have, in my opinion quite rightly, denied access to anyone without a skill or a job they need and without enough money ….the UK should do the same ! France is also going to apply this rule for residency , they do so already, but after BREXIT it will get a lot tighter ....

Norway. It's a beautiful country and we have friends there that are as close as family, The Wonderful Man speaks the language fluently - and it's the only country that I know for sure our adult children would definitely join us in.

We couldn't live in NZ; apart from the country itself being out to get us when we've visited (torrential rain, floods, earthquakes, raging fires and tidal waves) we encountered breathtaking misogyny and racism.

Italy

Italy, for stunning scenery and the best food and wine in the world.

France, my second home, having lived there or the Netherlands if I were to consider leaving Scotland again but I have no yearning to live elsewhere now. This is where I belong.

I did move to live in egypt from South of England. i stayed for 13 years, really had no intention to return to UK but ill health forced my return. Now disabled and know I would have struggled to have stayed in Egypt under the circumstances.

Yes, everyone wants to come back to the UK when they need the NHS !

England! I live in Italy now. It's ok for holidays but south of Rome healthcare leaves a lot to be desired ( don't knock the NHS) and the government here is in dissaray too!

I think I would choose Rio de Janeiro if only it wasn't so far away.
My father was Brazilian. . Its a wonderful country.

We moved to Ireland and couldn’t wait to come home - we were there 9 years - never felt so isolated and lonely

Canada. My dad was Canadian. He met my mum in the war. He was in Canadian navy, mum was a Wren and they were on the same ship in the South Pacific. They lived in Canada (Vancouver) for a few months before coming back to England. I often wonder what my life would have been like if they had stayed over there. Dad was part of a large family so I would have grown up with all my cousins near by. Mum was an only child so I have no cousins over here.

Italy for me too. Beautiful country. I'd never tire of visiting all those ancient ruins and the food isn't bad either!

buster we are here now in our villa just outside Denia. A wonderful, cosmopolitan town that had everything. Good restaurants, bars, beaches, scenery and mostly good weather but didn't think so when we arrived Tuesday! Also within easy reach of Altea

Portugal for me - they are very friendly people and love children - also Italy - food in both countries is very good - well the parts we have been to are.

Australia- anywhere on the coast obviously. Love the sun and no problems with the language or even driving on a different side of the road. I have spent time out there but am in the U.K. because I am where my family is.

New Zealand! It's like Scotland but with more sheep.

Italy please. Lived there for two years as a young adult in the sixties and still miss it - cried for months when we came home.
