Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but looking dry here in Brackley at the present moment.
Today, will be paying off remainder of the shows booked for next year ,as operator has got pre xmas closing dates.
The latest version of Lion King is out on DVD today, plus I want to buy a trowel with a telescopic handle so I can maintain around parents graves.

Good morning everyone from a dry and bright Essex by the sea. We are off to the bank this morning to open a joint account, solely for household bills. I hope they don't keep us waiting as DH is a stickler for punctuality!!!
He will drive to a business meeting afterwards and I will have a mooch around the shops and go home on either the bus or train.
I hope everyone who is under the weather feels better soon and love to Gilly and her husband.
Who said we were cliquey, I can't think of anything further from the truth.
Anyway have a good Monday everyone.

Good morning to everyone, dry and bright here in Torbay looks like a good weather day ahead?
Shopping today after dog walk. Not much else going on today.
Wishing everyone a good day.

Good morning from a dry but overcast NE.
Happy birthday to Marydoll's GD, so cute at that age.
Another day of housework, my guests are not particularly tidy people.
Thoughts are with gilly this morning and hoping that improvement is maintained.

Morning all...
This will be short as the boiler guys said 8am and not here yet. I HATE people turning up late for appointments.
No excuse as they know what traffic is like and there are apps re diversions.
I'll be having words...???
I hope everyone has the best day possible. ?
Keep warm and take care.

Morning all from a bright but chilly South Notts.

Off on a longish this morning and in a hotel for the night, something I haven't done for ages and for the first time by myself so a little nervous.

Hope all is well with everyone, especially gillybob and all those with worries.

Good morning all. As perishing as Marydoll has said here in. Glasgow. Just wanted to snuggle in my cosy bed but workmen are due at any time.

Not a pleasant description of the GM thread Marydoll, I would describe it as friendly and supportive so, sorry to hear you feel rotten today. My all time stomach upset remedy is ‘flat’ Irn Bru, works every time, due to the ginger content. Take care

On that note, hope the nonsense didn’t upset you yesterday Kitty. Not a description any of us know you by at all

A snuggle up day for you Maw doing nothing but whatever you feel like doing. A duvet day sounds about right.

Hope you are given a bit more good news gilly ??

Have a pleasant day all and some strength to those dealing with troubled times.

MawB Mon 18-Nov-19 08:25:58

Perhaps they stopped en route for a wee GabriellaG ?

Grammaretto Mon 18-Nov-19 08:27:16

Hello everyone from the Scottish Borders. My phone tells me it's minus 2 up on this cold hill.
I like being one big friendly clique!!
Welcome back Gabriella!
Happy birthday Marydolly jnr
I'm being called to breakfastof pain perdu stale bread sounds so much better in French.
Hoping for improvement for the Gillybobs

Marydoll Mon 18-Nov-19 08:30:14

Thought I would share this view from my bedroom.
It's very atmospheric, with mist, swirling in the trees. The photo doesn't do it justice.

Kalu Mon 18-Nov-19 08:34:18

Oh I do like your description of stale bread Grammaretto?
May use it in future and explain when I open the wrapper to stale contents I shall cry, oh no, the bread is lost?

Susan56 Mon 18-Nov-19 08:36:52

Good morning from Shropshire.
Cancelled our plans for today as I seem to have caught this wretched cold and cough doing the rounds and DH overdid it a bit yesterday.
Our DGD really enjoyed her birthday party yesterday,I don’t think she stopped smiling all day.
Marydoll, hope the nausea settles down and you get the anti sickness medication. If not ginger or travel sickness bands can help.
Maw and everyone else unwell sending get well wishes.
Sending love and prayers to gilly and hope the improvement in her DH continues.x

Greyduster Mon 18-Nov-19 08:47:15

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Yippee! It’s stopped raining in South Yorkshire! I have an evil, stinking cold?, but I intend to go for a walk today before we do the school run. Not that we will see much of GS as he is having tea with a friend today, so it will be hello, a quick hug and goodbye! I’ll take that.
Kindest thoughts to Gilly and all who are struggling. Have a good day folks.

Lins1066 Mon 18-Nov-19 08:48:24

A beautiful morning here on the S Welsh coast but it's cold.
Didn't sleep well unfortunately.
Hope your nausea improves Marydoll, I had forgotten about taking ginger for it. I used to eat a ginger biscuit when I suffered from morning sickness, now that was a long time ago.
Hope all those who are unwell feel better soon.
Thinking of gilly and her husband, hope his slight improvement continues.

Brunette10 Mon 18-Nov-19 08:53:03

gilly- sorry was absent over weekend and only trying to catch up. Hoping you have some better news about your DH, keep your head held up high you have been amazing through this journey. You know you are such thought of here on GN although we are all virtual friends - they are good ones. Take care, my thoughts are with you. flowers

Parsley3 Mon 18-Nov-19 08:55:21

Good morning, all. Very cold and frosty here in Central Scotland but the sky is blue and the sun is shining.
Off to a spin class soon for my daily exercise. ?‍♂️
Have a good day!

Marydoll Mon 18-Nov-19 08:57:44

Good morning Parsley, are you a new poster?
Welcome!

Alygran Mon 18-Nov-19 08:58:29

Good morning from sunny North Yorkshire. It’s showing up the dust on the sideboard so guess what I shall be doing this morning...
Out for a walk later and a Board Meeting tonight for which I have to do some prep so I really must get cracking!
Thoughts with those who are poorly or have struggles today.

Anniebach Mon 18-Nov-19 09:00:53

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Urmstongran Mon 18-Nov-19 09:05:34

Hi Parsley3
?

Spinning? I’m impressed! My exercise today will be a stroll 3 blocks along to the bar this afternoon!
?

Marydoll Mon 18-Nov-19 09:07:33

The only spinning going on here, is in my head! ???

Nannytopsy Mon 18-Nov-19 09:08:49

Good morning Mick and all of his followers! Blue skies in Suffolk although it is a bit chilly. There are no builders today, so a rather late start - again! The lemongrass and ginger cordial in green bottles is very nice and might help the nausea Marydoll? Lovely photo.
Welcome Parsley and warm hugs to all who need them.

gillybob Mon 18-Nov-19 09:25:44

Good morning from the NE coast.

Another fairly positive day for DH yesterday only spoiled at 8.30 pm when the shift changed . As soon as I saw the nurse who was taking over my heart sank . Not saying she is a bad nurse at all but I really dislike her patronising almost passive aggressive attitude.....and if she calls my DH (68 years old) a “naughty boy” once more I shall not be responsible for my actions ! There that’s off my chest. Phew .

Anyway yesterday the sedation taken down very low again and ventilated oxygen reduced considerably too. He was quite agitated and unable to make any eye contact but I was given some simple exercises to try with him and I am sure he was responding. For example “squeeze my hand when I say your name” and other very simple tasks. The tears were rolling down my cheeks . Please please please let the man I love still be in there fighting to get out.

The lovely day nurse and weekend consultant told me that they “ were reasonably happy with his tests” yesterday morning which is not as good as I expected but better than “not happy at all” I suppose. They said that because he has been in a coma for so long it will be very hard for him to just “snap out” and getting back to any kind of normal could be a very long way off.

I shall see what today brings. Not sure if I should mention the night nurse (she will probably be back tonight as they tend to stick with the same patients and usually do 3 in a row) or just let it go. I can’t bear the thought of him being treat with disrespect .

Thank you all again for your good wishes, prayers and kind words . Blimey if we could harness them all together DH will be back to his old self sooner rather than later.

It really does cheer me to know there are so many of my lovely virtual Gransnet friends routing for him. Hurray for Gransnet.

I hope that others who are struggling with worries and ill health feel the sunshine very soon and to those lucky enough to be enjoying happy times, long may they continue. Life really is too short and none of us know what’s around the corner do we?

Have a good Monday everyone .

Love Gilly xx

Oh and I love that photo Marydoll I would love to blow it up and put it right over DH’s bed. Seems so appropriate. smile

Mapleleaf Mon 18-Nov-19 09:29:08

Good morning all,

Greyduster is right - the rain has stopped and we have sunshine!!!

Going to my coffee morning group shortly, I missed it last week because of the awful weather and risk of the local river misbehaving.

Welcome, Parsley.

To all feeling under the weather or worried, I hope things improve as the day progresses. Thinking especially of gilly.

Mapleleaf Mon 18-Nov-19 09:37:27

Hello, gilly. Our posts crossed. I'm so pleased to read this more positive news. Sending you hugs.?

EllanVannin Mon 18-Nov-19 09:38:20

Good Morning All x
A lovely bright crisp sunny morning----just right for hanging washing out.

A quick trip to the local shops then a pan of pea soup to make with the left-over mushy peas from yesterday and some thick cuts of ham in the freezer. That'll keep me going !

Sip some soda water Marydoll that should settle the tum. Nausea isn't nice and happens with a lot of medications.
A drop of dry ginger too.

I hope everyone's fine and thoughts are never far from the Gillybobs xx
Enjoy this lovely day if you have sunshine, as long as you're on the go with it being cold.
