It is unusual for a poster to deny having made one of her previous posts , accuse another poster of making things up, then when it is proven by others that she did make that boastful post, having to claim it was a joke.

No apology for accusing someone else of making things up, just an admission that nothing she posts is likely to be true.

Since she outed herself as unbelievable, there seems no point in reading any of her posts.

But getting loads of sympathy for that!

It’s ridiculous bringing politics into this. So what if someone is right of centre? Good for them I say.

But probably much less delighted that her outright denial of having said something was so easily proved to be a lie.

I do not believe that everyone who is right of centre peddles untruths. Obviously many do - Boris Johnson for instance is a proven liar .

However I believe there are many decent honest folk, including GNetters, who would describe themselves as right of centre, just as there are decent honest liberals, social democrats and socialists.

Also on GN there are some contributors who are extremely wealthy, some who are really struggling and the majority of us I suspect are between the two.

Therefore fifty grand to some is not a huge amount to spend as they wish.

I don’t think the OP has been bullied at all . I do think she got caught out telling a lie(s)whether in all seriousness or joking .

I think in the main she asked for people’s comments on her actions and that’s what she got .

So the OP said she gave 50 k to Farage and now says she didn't?

Not only did she say that, she repeated it and explained it further ( see Maws posts). Of course had she said she had given £50k to Corbyn ....

I’m certainly nowhere near right of centre, but I’d defend anyone I thought was being “got at” in real life or on here. I couldn’t give a monkey’s what they vote, how many GN mates they’ve got, or how much they’re worth.

This forum’s just a bit of a diversion for (mainly) older folk with time on their hands, not a court of law. We’re talking about flushing, or not flushing, toilets, for Pete’s sake.

What’s astonished me about the defending of her is her many examples of superciliously correcting people’s spelling. I thought that wasn’t considered OK?

It isn’t ok, but she hasn’t done it on this thread.

I don't care about anyones politics, it certainly didn't influence me. The rudeness started before the political comment. And telling someone they should install a toilet instead of supporting a political party is out of order.
People would not comment on other users posts as harshly as they do on GabriellaG54's.
She is indeed got at or as we say in Northern Ireland people "gang up" on her. Not a nice thing.

What still escapes me is why OP would think that anybody would be impressed by a £50k donation to a political party anyway! Least of all the Brexit party at a country club fundraising evening.
I may be naive but it was not presented in a jokey manner rather as something genuinely meant to impress (and frankly entirely in character with some of her previous posts.)

OK fair do’s but to then accuse Varian of fabrication again beggars belief, unless OP genuinely has a tenuous grasp of reality in which case she has a problem and I apologise for not making allowances.
