Oh my poor little boobie!!!!

The bruise on my hip this morning is quite astonishing. (Caught it on the stainless steel soap rack. Must have a sharp edge somewhere) Other parts seem ok.

I am going to get a non slip bath mat.

I was very very careful getting out of the bath yesterday, especially as I'd used magnesium salts which made the water very soft.

I hope you are having some TLC today, Gonegirl, let someone else wait on you.

I've got a roast dinner to cook C.

That is a warning about the danger of baths as we get older.We had ours removed and replaced by very long shower tray with both central and hand held shower.The tray is non slip.Best decision we ever made.

I didn't know whether to laugh or cry over you having to cook Sunday Lunch Gonegirl. I'm impressed anyway at your ' soldier on ' spirit. I so hope you start to feel less sore soon. Do take care lifting heavy pans and I also hope there is someone there to help you do that.
I, for one, am going to start taking my mobile phone into the bathroom and to make sure there is a bath sheet or dressing gown in easy reach.
A friend of mine who had had a hip replacement took a bath when she was in her flat alone, fell, had to call out for help which a neighbour eventually heard through the window, and called the fire brigade. Some hunky firemen got in to her and preserved her modesty with great decorum while they got her out and into a waiting ambulance. She said it helped her recovery!

Gonegirl, hope your boobie gets better soon. One day my daughter and her husband went out Christmas shopping whilst I looked after my grandaughter who was then 6months old. Whilst she was asleep in her cot I decided to clean the bathroom. I stood in the bath to clean the shower door then went to get out with one foot in the bath and one foot out, my foot slipped on the bathroom floor and I landed with all my weight resting on the side of the bath under my arm. I had dislocated my shoulder. How I managed to get my grandaughter out of her cot, carry her downstairs and feed her I do not know. I will never forget the pain and having my shoulder reset at the hospital.

Poor you,yes get checked out maybe?? I felt faint once(had terrible stomach bug) we were in a hotel,so sat on edge of bath,and fainted & fell back into the bath,bumped my head quite badly,my 2 sons ran in then as i came to & had to haul me up out of bath,i did have a nightie on,but still,not one of my greatest moments i also ran for a bus a few years ago,tripped full length where water board had been digging up,stuck out my arms to 'save' myself,didn't realise at first,as i scrambled up,(can't do that anymore )that I'd broken my arm in few places till i started shaking so much & my arm was quite wonky...

Get somebody else to lift the joint out of the oven, Gone.

I take my non slip mat with me if we go away. I once got caught out trying to step out of a shower cubicle which was like a skating rink. It's a wonder I didn't pull the screen off its hinges!

Gonegirl,get rid of the soaprack too....

Not bath-related but another fall story. A friend fell in the street and had some cuts and bruises. People in a nearby office saw it happen and took her into their premises. One of them then called her husband to come and collect her.

Unfortunately, the office was that of a funeral director's and the young girl began her call with 'Hello Mr Jones. Your wife has had a fall and she's in the undertaker's on the High Street. Can you come and get her?'

The poor man nearly had a heart attack, there and then!

Ouchy ouchy! You poor thing. Rub arnaca into you poor booby and rest up for the day. Also, take some ibuprofen.

I bought a pair of good nonslip flip flops to wear in the shower, I never go away or anywhere without them. They would probably work for getting out of the bath to if I were ever to have one !!!
They are marvellous and give me great confidence also brilliant around swimming pools on holiday too

Fell in the bath (used for a shower as could not get up from bath once sitting) and broke bone in hand I hit on side of bath as I went down. Took a while to extricate myself with help from dh. Now have no bath in house but a non-slip walk in shower. Also a stool for sitting on in it but not quite at that stage yet (fungus crossed, as we say).

I have had a number of falls and you do feel confused and shaken. Also bruised. And sprained.

I have 3 Grab Rails placed so that I am always holding onto one of them.
