Would it be considered rude of me to ask how old we are? I’m surprised for example to read if a poster is a great grandmother or is ‘going out to work now’.

I’m 65y.

In my 70s.

thanks Urmston. I don't feel ready to go yet as I have many interests and people are generally kind.

You obviously have a joy of life Dancingmadnanna - wonderful!

How many of us like me have mentally ‘buddied up’ with some posters now?

For example, I know Pantglas has a second home in Spain and she’s 62y (I thought you’d be older for that reason - silly but there you go!)

Marydoll I know you are a retired teacher and for some reason (again just my guess) I thought you were a tad older but you are 64y so you’re younger than me too.

I’m just glad that although 65y like me Beechnut is a DAY older than me. Hurrah!!

I’ve loved reading this thread. Thank you very much to you all for joining in.

74 last month, but I don't know when I'm likely to become an adult.

Sorry, didn’t mean to be rude there but I just couldn’t resist!

Urmstongran thank you. I am lucky that I have had a large family and hopefully will see the new little ones next year. But there are so many very young women suffering who wont be able to see their children grow up.

Juliette I have an aunt born in Sept 1946, I’ve always thought the same.

I am 59 years and 32 weeks, physically I feel about 78 but in my head I am about 18 to 25.

My eldest DGC is 17 already yikes.

66. :-) Would love to see a graph/profile of membership. I've exceeded the age at which my parents died and am inspired by those who remain bright and lively into their 70s and 80s. Hope I get there too and similarly full of life.

Marydoll Thu 14-Nov-19 07:41:46

I think that would be possible, anniezzz. ?
An Excel spreadsheet would sort the ages and a graph could be made from the data. Mmmmmm, it's a few years since I've done it, but I think it can be done, as long as no-one objects!
I may put my thinking cap on.

67 for three more weeks. Been reading GN for a couple of years but have not posted much. I love reading the Good Morning post as everyone is so friendly.

Proud gran to a darling toddler.

I was 79 in September. I worked part-time until I was 72. I struggle a bit with the thought of the next milestone birthday but I know it’s only a number.

rubysong Thu 14-Nov-19 08:37:10

I have another month left of being 67 and today my 'baby' (DS2) is 40 and he has recently become a father for the second time. Yesterday at 'Walking Wednesday' in the village we had a wonderful 90 year old lady with us. She swims in her outdoor pool most of the year. I hope I'm in the same shape when I reach her age!

gillybob Thu 14-Nov-19 08:50:13

I am 57 but look and feel 97 at the moment .

merlotgran Thu 14-Nov-19 09:36:09

Beechnut Thu 14-Nov-19 09:53:22

I might actually be just a few hours older than you Urmstongran ?

Gonegirl Thu 14-Nov-19 09:57:53

Hug from me too Gillybob.

HootyMcOwlface Thu 14-Nov-19 10:17:21

59 but the big 6 0 is looming at the end of the month!

Urmstongran Thu 14-Nov-19 10:41:36

Ooh yes please Marydoll I think that would be fantastic! You are very clever to be able to collate something we could all share from the data given.

So many posters have contributed to this thread in so short a period of time - it literally ‘took off’ didn’t it? - that shows the level of interest a pleasant, inclusive topic generated.

Plus, it would make you sit down and physically relax .....
