Would it be considered rude of me to ask how old we are? I’m surprised for example to read if a poster is a great grandmother or is ‘going out to work now’.

I’m 65y.

64 going on 21!

Anniel Mon 11-Nov-19 23:13:56

I am 85 and my ambition is to be the first person in my family to reach 90.

My sister died three days before her 90th birthday and I was so sad she did not make it to that milestone age.

Grandyma Mon 11-Nov-19 23:31:44

I’m 65 - 66 in January

I'm 65 in December. Young at heart but can't do in a day what I used to do. I dread getting old.

Have a wonderful day. flowers

My poor Mum died last year at only 67.
My gran is a 93 yr old who looks like a supermodel and HER Mum died at 105.

Wowzer! what a wonderful response to this thread! I can’t believe it’s generated so many replies, so quickly.

I read them all (thank you, some wonderful comments, some sad ones and some true surprises! I tried to respond last night but the WiFi signal here in Malaga was rubbish for some reason - we don’t pay for broadband as we don’t live here permanently. Anyway, all I kept getting was that little ‘I’m thinking about it wheel’ - you’ll know the one!

I may need some help today from you eagle eyed GN’s as to who holds our crowns. And who is baby?

I think it’s hats off to good King Rufus ? well done Sir.

The Queen, at least so far (I think - please correct me if I’m wrong here) is anniel I shall bob a curtesy if I come across any of your posts from now on m’am! ?

I haven’t been able to work out who Baby is. I’ll need another cuppa first!

Thanks again everyone it’s been such fun. x

I was 66 last week and like most of other posters I feel a lot younger, most days smile, I retired 18months ago I have enjoyed most of it but I do still miss the company.

GardenerGran Tue 12-Nov-19 08:02:14

I’m 63 and feeling it today after a restless night. I’m fairly recent to GN but loving it. ?

busyb Tue 12-Nov-19 08:06:36

How?!

Lins1066 Tue 12-Nov-19 08:27:59

My username definitely doesn't reflect my age.
I am 64 and like Mumofbadboys still waiting to be a Gran.
Still waiting for my pension too, another two years.

moggie Tue 12-Nov-19 08:31:36

I’m 61 & work part time

Bathsheba Tue 12-Nov-19 08:38:03

Just turned 69 (couple of weeks ago). Lucky to have been able to claim my state pension just a few months after my 60th, though I did carry on working 2 days a week until I was 63.

Brunette10 Tue 12-Nov-19 08:38:30

I am 65 and sometimes I wish, just wish I was 30 again. Retired for 8 years and been the quickest 8 years of my life smile

Urmstongran Tue 12-Nov-19 09:01:16

Thanks gmarie! Of course you’re quite right! Sorry for swiping thar crown from your head anniel - I hope I didn’t muss up your hair!

All hail good Queen Violetham of GN ?

Now who’s baby?

Maggiemaybe Tue 12-Nov-19 09:10:50

Coming up to 65, when I’ll start the 12 month countdown to my pension and bus pass. ?

When I told DGS recently that I’d missed a favourite item on a buffet, his reply was “Didn’t you have a grown up to help you, Nanna?”. ?

Grannmarie Tue 12-Nov-19 09:22:14

I'm 63 until my Beatles birthday next week. Two grandchildren, new grandchild due in the new year. I'm retired but do one day supply teaching and one granny day each week, I enjoy that. Wednesday is my ' down day' , church coffee morning then Aquafit, where they play 60s music, with my sister. No state pension until 66.
Great thread , Urmstongran?

Gonegirl Tue 12-Nov-19 09:41:55

Wow. So many Gransnetters.

No wonder the threads are so lively.
