Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but it looks dry at the moment here in Brackley this morning.
Might nip into Banbury on the bus and pay for a Xmas Market trip to Gloucester late next month.
Basically a quiet day in.
Mick

Morning All

Still and grey in the north of Norfolk.

I’ve just reclaimed my iPad as we had DGS to stay for the weekend so it was either hidden away, being used by him (on a time limit) or out of battery, and I’ve yet to read back and see what I’ve missed.

Big all enveloping (((hugs))) for you Gilly. Don’t know what happened yet but it sounds dire. Hang in there flowers

kittylester Mon 14-Oct-19 08:46:57

Just back to send (((hugs))) and good vibes to gilly. You might not be able to see us but we are all standing just behind you.

NannyJan53 Mon 14-Oct-19 08:38:56

Oh gillybob my heart goes out to you. I only wish I could be of some practical help. My love and good wishes to you and your DH.

Feelingmyage55 Mon 14-Oct-19 08:33:39

Morning all. Only 3 degrees as yet so pulled my nose back in the door quickly, but it is sunny and th trees are glowing golden.
gillybob I have been thinking about you a lot. Pour your heart out here as you can be confident of much advice. luckygirl ran a thread last month and got a lot of support. So would/will you. Can your family give you real life support? Or visit soop’s kitchen for lots of support.
marydoll Feet up and relax if you can.
I need to sweep up leaves today but will wait for the temperature to rise. I might reward myself with ? if I do all my chores.

MawB Mon 14-Oct-19 08:32:11

A huge hug Gillybob , you have been much in our thoughts. I am so sorry you feel lonely at a time when you need the support of your family and friends, but remember all too well what a lonely “place” you are in. Sending you what strength I can flowers

Good Morning from a damp S Welsh coast.
Didn't sleep well. DH will go and get DS's little spaniel shortly and she will spend the day with us again.

Hope everything is ok with Gilly and her DH.
Wishing everyone a good day.

Greyduster Mon 14-Oct-19 08:21:28

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. A dry but grey start in South Yorkshire. DH has an eye test this morning and I have shepherd’s pie to make before we go over to do our after school duties. I feel as if I am on a roller coaster at the moment - just as you get your head around one difficulty, you end up having with another to cope with. These things are sent to try us. kitty may I wish Wolfie a belated happy first birthday? That has indeed come around fast! Have a good day folks.

gillybob Mon 14-Oct-19 08:17:06

Good morning everyone and thank you all for all your good wishes and kind PM’s .

This is my 3rd attempt at posting this morning. Just to say my DH underwent a very long emergency operation yesterday. He was in ICU last night and I managed to spend a little time with him. I was told to telephone at 10am this morning. I can honestly say I don’t know whether I am coming or going, only that I have never felt so sad and lonely.

I am lying in bed typing this now on a Monday morning when I should be ready to leave for “that place” but I just can’t bear the thought of it. Will try and pull myself around in a little while. Some big almost life changing decisions to be made .

Hope Monday is kind to us all x

Good morning all - it sounds as if some of us are all waking up to dark days in more sense than one , but here at least it seems to have stopped raining.
Thinking of gilly and marydoll especially, but also bluesapphire and hoping you don’t find today too emotional. I have been to three funerals since Paw died, and if I am being honest, while in each case I wished to pay my respects, it was very very hard and deep down wish I could have got out of them.
I have my art history class this afternoon which brings me much pleasure as we are a friendly bunch and the tutor is excellent. But first I must pop out for a wee something for DGS in London whom I am picking up from preschool tomorrow while his mummy is in Minnesota and his daddy has to go to Gloucester. (A bit risky that, given all the rain we have had....”Dr Foster went to Gloucester” ...)
There are so many times I wish I lived nearer my DGCs so that this sort of thing was easier, but then they would all have to live near each other too.
Wishing you all a pleasant day.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. I tried to hang the washing out but the damp cold air isn't going to help it dry .so it came back indoors. Dreich day.

Our visitors have had their 3 days and I am beginning to want to be back to my normal routine although it has been nice having a pal to chat to so I'm not really grumbling.

I have bought a winter coat on Ebay which was a bit of a gamble. I did wonder why mine was the only bid. It transpires that the zip is broken. It was quite cheap.

Glad to hear you are on the mend Marydoll and hope others are recovering too. DGD ran into a radiator and has a huge egg on her forehead today.

NannyJan53 Mon 14-Oct-19 08:03:28

You will have to be quick NanKate there are only 9 left smile

Urmstongran Mon 14-Oct-19 08:02:25

Good morning everyone from Oldham where it’s dry just now. All the parked cars outside on the road have condensation - a real urban sign of winter!

Obviously no plans here. My aunt has just called down to say she’s ready for a cuppa and apparently whilst my uncle is away a neighbour will kindly get her newspaper each day when he goes out for his.

It’s a friend in Spain’s birthday today and I forgot to leave a card with a mutual friend before I left so a text this morning will have to do.

Thinking of you today gillybob and hope your husband’s op goes well.

Hope Monday is kind to us all whether we have any plans or (like me) none. x

Marydoll Mon 14-Oct-19 07:55:32

I do too dragonfly, but because I was so unwell the last few weeks, they were all used up, apart from the chilli I'm saving for emergencies!
I am going to guide DH through making salmon fish cakes from scratch today, wish me luck! grin

Brunette10 Mon 14-Oct-19 07:53:11

Good Morning from a dampish Fife. It's also only 6 degrees out at the moment so rather on the chilly side. DH away to hosp this morning for a scan, it's early so he should get parked ok. Just take things easy Marydoll and anyone else feeling under the weather. Thinking of Gilly. Have a good day everyone.

dragonfly46 Mon 14-Oct-19 07:52:51

Marydoll grin I always have a freezer full of my own ready prepared meals for just such an occasion!

Marydoll Mon 14-Oct-19 07:44:43

Happy to oblige, Kate , but no cooking from me just now. I would have to send DH...no you wouldn't want that if yesterday's offering is anything to go by!!! grin

NanKate Mon 14-Oct-19 07:42:30

Morning Mick and All.

Another grey day here in South Bucks.

Doesn’t time fly Kitty I bet Wolfie is nearly ready to launch himself on the world. Can I have one of your mince pies NannyJ I can smell the from here?

My sister leaves today after her short holiday with me. She has had a lovely time. I will be relieved to get back to our normal life, her need for constant substantial meals gets me down. I wish I had Mary here I’m sure she would have kept the meals rolling in.

Hope the Gillybob family are feeling better. ?

EllanVannin Mon 14-Oct-19 07:41:31

Good Morning All x.
Day is just beginning to dawn, slowly. It's dry out so far so we'll see what the day brings.

I sat ready to watch an old film last night which began at 10pm but couldn't keep my eyes open so that was the end of that.
" The girl with the green eyes ", starring Peter Finch and Rita Tushingham.

Some tidying to do and I might whizz the hoover around. I don't intend doing much. An email to write to D in Oz giving her all the up to date news. A shopping list to write for tomorrow in case I forget something and that's about it.

Hope things are easier in the Gillybob household. She reminds me so much of my D with nothing going right from one week to the other, it's never a smooth run. I do my level best not to be a nuisance to her and luckily stay independent of help in any way.

Have a good and illness-free day everyone.

cornergran Mon 14-Oct-19 07:26:07

Morning Mick, morning All from a dark and dry corner of Somerset. Rain due within the hour, flood warnings continue. It’s hard to enjoy being out for long. Suspect another faffing day, getting through the job list. How did wolfie get to be 1 kitty? Have a lovely family day. Another one here wondering about gilly, good wishes to all struggling and hope Monday is kind to everyone.

NannyJan53 Mon 14-Oct-19 07:22:48

Good Morning from a dark bit still dry Black Country

Walking for Health walk this morning.

I actually made a batch of mince pies yesterday, as I had a jar of Mums homemade mincemeat she made September 2018! This years batch she has made and I have a couple of jars of those too! Partner had one with a cuppa last night!

Cannot believe Wolfie is 1 already kitty seems no time since you announced his birth!

Hoping for better news from gilly today. Carry on taking it easy for a few days Marydoll flowers

Wishing everyone a good day

Marydoll Mon 14-Oct-19 07:18:47

Good morning Mick and all from a very dark Glasgow. I woke up, thinking it was much earlier.
A bit of a restless night and I'm aching all over.

I had a restful day yesterday, spent a pleasant afternoon with my sister in law, then my wee granddaughter appeared.
However, she was frightened by all the bruising on my hands and arms and got quite upset and wouldn't come near me.. ?

DH is driving me to my early morning GP appointment, as I'm not alowed to drive, then a Click and Collect at Asda and the day is mine to chill.

Hoping for better news of the Gillybobs and sending hugs to all who are poorly wishing everyone a pleasant day.

dragonfly46 Mon 14-Oct-19 07:15:08

Good morning, not looked out yet but believe more rain is forecast.

Dentist this morning then my trusty handyman, jack of all trades, is coming to sort out a few jobs for us.

Also wondering how you are gilly.
