Happy belated birthday Galen

Happy Anniversary n&g

We are back home from our Kenyan travels, missing eldest son and his wife already.

Have all the washing done and sent to
ironing lady, cleaners were in today so house is sparkling.

Our DD and GS have moved out into their home, it is so quiet here and I miss them tremendously. I know it is best for them, her partner is such a nice man and they are so excited for the arrival of their baby in January.

Will try to catch up, keep safe kitcheners.

Thank you for your good wishes one and all. We had a cracking Norfolk turkey carvery and bought our cake home for later this evening !!

I'm hopeful it will last Kitty but my advice to newly weds would always be to keep a frozen leg of lamb handy in case ;-)

To be fair GrannieQ I could not bear to think about training a new one !! At 43 years he is just about perfect but please don't tell him !! :-)

I shall catch up tomorrow x

N&G have a lovely meal and please do not overdo the liquid stuff.

The sun peeped out here but not for long, back to that awful rain again.

Part of my supper is cooking in the oven- I was contemplating opening a bottle of wine- why not, I may as well live dangerously.

Hopefully, my lodger will return home soon. I doubt if I will ever be able to have a proper lie-in whilst she is with me. She was standing on my pillow this morning, her face almost touching mine and shouting her head off. It was 8.15 am! I obeyed instructions and crawled out of bed.

soop it is going to take those cats many weeks or months getting used to staying in a house. My last cat spent over a week upstairs coming down during the night for food and ventured down during week two to inspect me.

I hope the trip to the dentist is okay tomorrow and you are not left with too much of a hole in your pocket.

GQ I do hope you enjoy your night out this evening and the weather is not too inclement.

Well, that’s what you get for being out all day! A very Happy Anniversary to you and Grampy, N&G, and many more to come! I hope you enjoyed your lunch and have followed it up with cake and bubbles!???.

annodomini Wed 27-Nov-19 19:37:15

N&G, Happy Anniversary. Ignore *Charley and enjoy a draft of the fizzy stuff. wine

annsixty Wed 27-Nov-19 20:08:43

Happy Anniversary N&G champagne is definitely called for.
soop as a devoted slave to Molly, it was a year last Monday since she brightened my life, I can understand how worried you are about the feral cats and just hope a solution soon presents itself.
I have had a day in bed, I came over”all peculiar “ last evening and came to my bed at 7:30.
I woke up, drenched in sweat about 10pm and then of course couldn’t get back to sleep, by this morning I felt dreadful and have dozed on and off all day.
The thing that worries me is that I had something similar about a month ago and I am usually so well apart from pain in my limbs.
Is this a warning I am asking myself?
Have a good evening everyone and keep warm and well.

Doodle Wed 27-Nov-19 20:14:09

Happy Anniversary*N&G*. Sorry it’s a bit late been out all day. Hope you had a good time ??

Charleygirl5 Wed 27-Nov-19 22:26:15

Ann sorry to hear you have felt unwell and retired to bed.

I think half the problem is we do not think that anything can be wrong and we can continue as we did in eg our 40's and we are now marginally older. I do hope you are feeling better tomorrow or maybe you need to make a trip to your GP.

Sorry to have missed the birthday and anniversary - is there any cake left? (She asked hopefully ?)
The planners gave permission today and the builders start on Wednesday so it’s a bit chaotic here. Also we have visitors until Tuesday ...

Rain here yet again- no change.

I would not like having builders around in December- your house will be freezing.

Ann I love Tara to bits so I am well aware how you feel about Molly.

soop I hope that MacS has recovered from the journey and the oscopy.

Back again on a fleeting visit to the kitchen. Still we have maladies and suchlike and I hope Ann and everyone else is feeling better now. N&G congratulations and belated (sorry) birthday wishes to Galen. Goodto hear news of the lovely Molly too and to hear she is firmly in charge ?

Packing and last minute stuff now For the first time in my travelling life I am feeling tense. I know CH will look after me but still ..............

I may nor be around for a few days, but will try and post from down under. Which reminds me, lovely photo of the elephant from somebody (I am a bit discombobulated this morning as you can probably tell. Happy Christmas to everyone and lets hope 2010 is a better year for all.

Izabella Thu 28-Nov-19 12:16:17

Or perhaps 2020. I didnt consult my Alzheimers closck to see what year I am in now. I frequently dont know.

annodomini Thu 28-Nov-19 12:58:27

Izabella, bon voyage. I hope you will have a lovely Christmas in the antipodes. sunshine

soop Thu 28-Nov-19 13:09:09

granniequeenie I am hoping that you enjoyed your trip to the big city and the concert.

soop Thu 28-Nov-19 13:21:01

Izabella And it's bon yoyage from me too.

Ann I am concerned for you. If you still feel most peculiar and out of sorts tomorrow...take yourself to see the GP. Please.

You know how you can dwell on such phobias well in advance of the actual happening? I've been stir crazy with nerves for well over a week because of the dental appointment. Silly me! Nowt to fret about. I was in and out of that dreaded chair within twenty minutes. My teeth are okay. It's the receding gums which are causing over sensitivity. I have been prescribed special toothpaste which will be on a repeat thingy. Very high in fluoride. No charge. Thank you NHS

Ferile feline family update. Three cats are to be adopted by the Oban cat rescue service. It is, we all feel, in their best interest. I shall hope to be feeling much happier when I hear that they are in safe hands.

soop Thu 28-Nov-19 13:22:24

N&G I'm searching the kitchen for the cake that you saved for us lot. wink

Charleygirl5 Thu 28-Nov-19 13:26:38

soop that sounds a much better option for the cats. They will be fed, watered, cared for and slowly they will get used to humans coming remotely close to them. There is also less to wreck in a cat pen!

soop Thu 28-Nov-19 14:53:55

Charleyg I concur. smile flowers

soop Thu 28-Nov-19 16:36:40

It has been a bitterly cold yet sunny day from dawn 'til dusk.

I shall sleep better tonight having seen the dentist and escaped without what I had thought might be ouchie treatment. Such a relief. Also, knowing the cats are to be cared for by the cat rescue team (once they have been trapped and motored to Oban) is a bonnie bonus.

How are you, Ann? How is your granddaughter? Feeling better, I hope.

How are you - Mr and Mrs Panache? Please update us when you feel up to it.

GrannyGravy It's good to have you back with us.

I am logging off. Morning visit to the care home. Back with you once I return and unpack the weekly shop.

I haven't been in the Kitchen for a while, though I have kept up with all the posts, such a lot going on.
I have been incarcerated at home ( since mid Sept )due to two fractures in my back, have an appointment to see the Consultant on Dec 12. I have been referred for a bone scan, only to be told that the waiting list is 7 months! This is despite the website saying 6-8 weeks. The secretary told us to ring every day in the hope of a cancellation. We held out very little hope of that, however my DH rang this morning and we have a cancellation for 11.30 tomorrow. Some good luck at last.
soop so sorry to hear about Brodie, you were so good to him. The other cats have been a worry for you so it was heartening to hear that the the Oban Cat Rescue centre will take them.
Your painting of Daisy is beautiful, her owner is surely delighted.
My belated best wishes to Galen for both her retirement and birthday. I won't forget to give you a wave across the Bristol Channel.
Izabella Bon voyage, have a wonderful time with your family.
It has been a fine day with us but it has now begun to rain.

Soop please send some of your weather southwards! It has been wet and grey all week in Suffolk and I would really like a change. I don’t mind cold at all - it is a good excuse for warming toddies, mulled wine, damson whisky ... need I go on? ?.
It will be cold with the builders about, I fear but warmer in the long run! Lots of coffee and packets of biscuits!

lins sorry to hear about your back. Glad you got a cancellation. A bit of good luck at last.
izabella hope you have a fantastic trip.

soop Fri 29-Nov-19 14:23:53

Lins You have been through the wars. Bless you. Wonderful news that you have not to wait months. I fact, you will already seen the Consultant. Please update us when you feel up to doing so.

Nannytopsy It is another glorious day in Kintyre. I shall add pics for you.

Ann How are you feeling today?

soop Fri 29-Nov-19 16:36:42

You lot are either spending cash in the shops, baking or taking things easy. If it's the latter, I congratulate you.

Apart from the care home visit and a trip to a not over busy Tesco, I've not been too bothered about doing repetitive stuff aboot the hoos.

The sunset was colourful. It's nippy outside. I am going to drink tea and read the newspaper.

At this point, I would like to add the usual message - TOYA - especially the Panaches Ann dragonfly and Lins. In fact, every one of you with a buggeration to bear.

Back with you in the morrow. Stay warm and safe. smile moon

Thank you Doodle and Soop you are so kind.
We have framed the lovely paintings you did of Wilma Soop and they look stunning.
Have a good evening and weekend everyone.
