dragonfly that wig looked amazing- so real.

Sar that is a beautiful cake- a real work of art- a pity it had to be cut but Carys seemed to love it.

Ann Molly is a minx upsetting you. I am well aware of how you are feeling and you will not be able to settle until she is safely indoors.

It is time for supper but what?

Love the wig Dragonfly!
Love to all in need, particularly the Panaches.

Nannyfaraway Wed 13-Nov-19 18:49:46

Hello everyone. Once again my good intentions of popping in everyday have gone astray. Seemed to have been very busy with college and other stuff.
Grannygravy I would love to have seen those white rhinos hope you continue having a great holiday.
Draginfly that wig looks great and so does the turbon.
N&G love the birthday cake.
Well I'll say again I'll try and pop in everyday hope I manage it this time.
TOYA

Dare I admit?
My GD has just come home from work and Molly was trapped in her bedroom, I am sure I checked everywhere?
I am so embarrassed but so very relieved.

dragonfly46 Wed 13-Nov-19 19:50:40

So pleased she has turned up ann. It reminds me of the time I lost our son. He was about 10. It got to 5 o’clock and I was wondering where he was. Eventually I had all the neighbours looking for him and was ready to call the police when he came down from the attic where we had a playroom and asked where his dinner was. I suddenly remembered he had come in from school, said hello and went upstairs while I was on the phone!

Doodle Wed 13-Nov-19 20:16:29

Phew ann what a relief. I am so pleased you’ve found her.
Panache your DH is a determined man. Hopefully he will keep well despite this latest blow. There are times when home is definitely best and I think you are wise to keep things quiet at the moment.
dragonfly I love your elfin look. Really suits you.
What amazing cakes have been made for the youngsters birthdays. Any left for us? ?
TOYA ?

Greyduster Wed 13-Nov-19 20:25:42

Ann I’m so pleased that Mollie has turned up! Better accidentally shut in a bedroom at home than shut in someone’s garage or shed in the dark and cold. It does happen.

dragonfly I’m with those who say the wig looks amazing! Suits you to a T. I’m sure you’ll be happy with either choice.

Some really super birthday cakes on here. My GS had a hand in making mine - it had a very rustic appearance but I wouldn’t have minded if it had looked as if a tractor had run over it! Come to think of it.....?. No no, it was delicious and I was very touched, even though he is not ready for junior bake off yet! I think he is going to be more of a savoury sort of cook!

Panache it’s a shame you and your DH are missing out on those little outings, but when you are struggling, home in each other’s company can be sustaining beyond words. Take care of yourselves.

When we got home yesterday evening our water had gone off. Fortunately dinner was in the slow cooker, so we didn’t need any for cooking, and I suppose we could have fallen back on beer, or gin and tonic to keep us from dying of thirst, but unfortunately we had bottled water in the car??☹️! This morning, the water was back on but it is still not running clear. First world problems, and petty compared to what others in our county are having to put up with at the moment.
Just wanted to put my foot in the door. TOYA.

Evening All. Well, I’ve no chance of catching up properly so apologies.

dragonfly, a big hug and a bigger well done. The wig and turban both look wonderful. Wear them with pride.

A hug for you too morethan, there’s so much courage in your family, your son is carrying far too much and I hope for compassion for him from his mother in law.

Beautiful rainbow soop, I can never seem to capture the colours properly.

The birthday cakes are amazing, true works of art.

More adjusting to do panache, sometimes we just need to stay home and pull up the drawbridge, having said that can I encourage you to join in some of the pre Christmas activities, distraction is also good. Thinking of you both.

Are the water problems anything to do with flooding greyd? We had something similar here a few years back when floods were about. What a shame you didn’t need to fall back on the tonic, with gin of course smile.

Oh dear, ann, can understand the worry about Mollie, delighted she was safe and warm.

I’m truly not a cat person (apologies, my Mum was terrified of cats so we were a dog family) but was fascinated watching these two this morning. They circled each other and had a staring competition for a good half an hour. So, cat people, what was going on? The ginger cat is mature, quite slow now and seems to believe our garden is his. The other one is young, spent the summer trying (and failing) to catch dragon flies, causing much merriment here.

Very brave friends are coming to stay for a few days tomorrow so I’ll be TOYA but not posting.

I’m off to bed. Night night everyone.

callgirl1 Thu 14-Nov-19 00:59:34

I`d say one was being territorial Corner, laying claim to your garden, and warning the other one off.

GrannyGravy13 Thu 14-Nov-19 07:14:15

Just popping in to say hello

Here are a couple of pictures from our first Safari.

dragonfly your wig looks amazing, I would have thought it was your natural hair.

Panache I am so sorry to read your post, you and your dear man have been through so much flowers

annsixty pleased Molly is safe and sound.

TOYA

Charleygirl5 Thu 14-Nov-19 09:30:07

Ann so pleased to hear that Molly was found. I think she was very happy snuggled in your GD's bedroom- if she had wanted you to rescue her you would have heard her dulcet tones a couple of houses away. At least she was safe and sound.

Cold here today- I really should go out. I do not understand why Tara does not want to luxuriate in the warmth of the house instead of braving the cold. I would love to know what the attraction is.

corner I hope the ginger tom won- he should as he has decided your garden is also his.

GG, what a lovely picture of the rhino. It's such a privilege to be so close to this rare and endangered animal. 50 years ago, I was driving my parents through the Masai Mara in my little blue Beetle when, within less than 100 metres from a rhino, we had a puncture. My dad and I were adept at wheel changing, but not usually near a rhino. Luckily, a safari minibus came along and the driver and his mate made short work of the job. After that, we had to drive hundreds of miles with no spare and fingers firmly crossed before we could get the puncture fixed. Those were the days!
Glad you are having a great time in Kenya. I guess it has changed a lot since my youthful adventures.

soop Thu 14-Nov-19 13:20:48

anno Wow! An adventurous spirit personified.

So very happy that the pussy cat was not really and truly lost, ann. Panic over. I must admit that I was very concerned for Molly's welfare.

GrannyGravy That is one splendid beast. Haven't caught sight of the likes hereabouts. wink

corner At least the cats are behaving in a manner a number of the human race would most certainly not. Eyeing each other up. Considering the likelihood that the intruder will get the message and beat it. No fisty cuffs paws necessary.

soop Thu 14-Nov-19 13:28:39

Sunny Thursday greetings to Greyduster Doodle, Charleyg, callgirl1, Nannyfaraway, Nannytopsy dragonfly together with the rest of you lot who may be popping into the kitchen.

dragonfly46 Thu 14-Nov-19 15:48:05

Gosh not stopped raining here all day Soop and the puddles in the road are getting bigger.

Wonderful rhino GG I have always wanted to go to that part of Africa.

Oncologist was very pleased with me and chemo going ahead tomorrow. First he said he didn't want to see me for 6 weeks but of course that meant Christmas and they don't work over Christmas so seeing him again in three.

soop Thu 14-Nov-19 16:43:02

dragonfly You are never far from my thoughts. My best wishes are winging their way from Kintyre.

It has been a beautiful day. Very calm and very crisp. Am about to begin a watercolour of an elderly lady dog who goes by the name of Daisy.

TOYA until I return to catch up with you. Care home visit in the morning. Back at lunchtime. Stay safe and cosy. smile moon

MawB Thu 14-Nov-19 16:48:51

What a lovely wig Dragonfly -it looks truly lovely.
For those who asked for it, here is Paw’s stone.
sad but onwards and upwards

GrannySomerset Thu 14-Nov-19 16:51:35

Beautiful lettering on Paw’s elegant headstone. Lovely.

dragonfly46 Thu 14-Nov-19 16:54:51

Oh Maw the stone is beautiful.

callgirl1 Thu 14-Nov-19 18:03:47

Very dignified and beautiful MawB.

annsixty Thu 14-Nov-19 19:12:04

Beautiful simple and elegant stone Maw.
The lettering is perfect and complements the colour of the granite.

Panache Thu 14-Nov-19 20:12:22

Sorry my friends but after my dear one having to undergo now the 7th painful treatment today, seeing him so wan, pale and in obvious great discomfort my heart is bleeding.
Whilst he has taken all 6 treatments well and truly "on the chin" without a murmur, this one is so very different.
On meeting with his Consultant earlier this week it was to find the cancer marker much raised again,so until the next marker he continues with this same treatment......as he certainly had a blip last session,so we simply do not know whether the drug is no longer effective,or it could be due to what may have been just an infection.
It is agony not knowing but yet having to watch him suffer so when now any reprieve is in serious doubt is even worse,
It has been a very sobering few days.

But a big thank you for those lovely caring messages,I am certainly buckling badly as my own health is also truly at such a low ebb.
We have the tendancy to pick ourselves up and brush ourselves down normally so hopefully we find the strength to do just this.

I dislike saying it as it is, but also it is some relief to share.

Love to you allxx

annsixty Thu 14-Nov-19 20:19:36

Oh Panache whst a heartfelt and sobering post.
You must know our love and prayers are with you both.
I so hope our support boosts your spirits and makes you feel more positive.
