Really panicking here.
Molly has been missing now for over 6 hours, unknown for her to be out for so long.
I have called and called her with no response.
She spends nearly all day in the house so I am really worried about her.

annsixty Wed 13-Nov-19 16:23:06

Love both the wig and the turban dragonfly you look lovely.
Well done for getting on with things flowers

Sar53 Wed 13-Nov-19 16:22:19

Good afternoon everyone. I've just seen the picture of the Queen of the Universes birthday cake that N&G posted. My granddaughter Carys was 8 last Sunday and I am attaching a picture of her cake made by my daughter. They are so similar and both look so beautiful.

kittylester Wed 13-Nov-19 16:12:02

Your hair doesnt look that different dragonfly and I love the turban. You are being very upbeat.

morethan (((hugs))). I'm sorry I have missed a few days and only just seen your post. It must be hell to watch your son and his family go through this awful time. It was insensitive of your ddil's parents to say that to you.

Sending loving but gentle hugs panache. Home is best, I agree!

I'm off to watch 2xdgc on a climbing wall. shock I may need a stiff drink when I get back.

TOYA.

dragonfly46 Wed 13-Nov-19 15:48:54

So sorry to hear things are not too good with you both Panache. You are going through a difficult time flowers

Here are pics of my wig and one of my turbans.

soop Wed 13-Nov-19 14:12:23

I looked through the window and saw a rainbow...

soop Wed 13-Nov-19 12:16:20

A chilly but bright good afternoon to all dear Kitcheners.

Panache Your post was especially caring and thoughtful. flowers

N&G I have decided to "come back" as a member of your family or as one of our over-pampered pets. Sounds like a good plan? You bet.
As for that cake...words fail me. Laura looks so beautiful.

Susan56 I'm pleased to hear that your husband is recovering from an unexpected blip. Being with Barnaby not forgetting the little cat will be just the tonic he needs.

Charleyg Tara has every right to loll on clean bedding. It's a perk that must not be denied. wink

I'm about to sketch a border terrier pet of a pal of of ours. An exciting moment.

Susan56 Wed 13-Nov-19 11:33:05

Have just been catching up on the last few days posts.Havent been posting as my husband had a bit of a blip in his recovery but back on course now I think??We are at our younger daughters today looking after little Barnaby which is giving us both a boost.Their little cat always likes my husband but has literally not left his side since we got here, she can obviously sense he isn’t 100%and has appointed herself his gaurdian?
I am so sorry to hear the sadness that some of you are suffering and send my love, strength and prayers to you all?
Some lovely pictures of dogs and beautiful grandchildren.
Our dog search is officially on hold at the moment but I am still secretly searching however realistically I think it will be spring now when we get our new pooch.
Wishing everybody the best day possible.TOYA?

Panache Wed 13-Nov-19 10:45:55

One of those mornings when tears are far too near, but then on reading these heartfelt posts I realise that, sadly, I am not alone and many of my kitchen friends are going through their own sadnesses.

Morethan words truly fail because you have so much going on all around you and as we all know it is impossable to deal and meet with everyone`s feelings. You seem to have that instinctive heart though and you find that special time for those most needy at this point in time.I only wish life offered you some much needed respite.flowers

Although you always put on your brave face Dragonfly I can well suspect saying farewell for the present to your shining glory would be somewhat difficult, however please believe that it will return and be probably be even more shining and lush!

Trusting that this double whammy that has returned to hit you both yet again Corner is now fast improving.Take extra care, as indeed these days there is a real nip in the air.

Great news thus far regarding your man Synonymous let us hope it is very much a continuation of ever upwards and onwards.........for you both.

Whilst your beautiful meaningful poem Maw resulted in floods again, believe you me, both you and Ann are ever in my thoughts
Having recieved rather a body blow on visiting his Consultant yesterday my dearest and I are in a very fragile mood.He remains ever optomistic and determined but sadly, I also wear my nurses cap,so reality is hitting home..........hard.

All around me are Christmas preperations, tomorrow we have all been invited to an afternoon session ....12 to 4pm at a nearby Hostelery by the sea where the firm have laid on a hot and cold buffet.Transport has been arranged. However no way can we now attend, home sweet home is very much what we need.

Lovely pictures yet again, thank you for the cheer they bring.

Felling very much for those trapped in these endless floods and with yet more deluges in the offing, sadly there may well be many more..........I can but hope all remain safe and will get the necessary caring they badly need.It is so heartbreaking.Always even more so when on the verge of the so called "Festive season"

Sending love and every good wish for the day and beyond.XX

Charleygirl5 Wed 13-Nov-19 10:06:41

That is a seriously good cake and too well made to be eaten. Laura looks as though she is about to tuck in. She is a very fortunate young lady.

Buddy and Willow are gorgeous.

It is sunny, dry but very cold here at present. My house is as warm as toast but Tara left the country hours ago. She does not know what she is missing.

Ann buying in bulk may mean you may be given a discount.

NanaandGrampy Wed 13-Nov-19 09:51:31

Success !

NanaandGrampy Wed 13-Nov-19 09:23:56

hmmm pictures wouldn't post

NanaandGrampy Wed 13-Nov-19 09:22:40

Morning all !!

Glad to know you are being environmentally aware with the large gin bottles Ann;-)

Lovely photo Morethan she's as cute as a button. I'm sorry to hear your DiLs parents are playing the blame game. How hard for you all and your poor son at this sad, sad time.

Your photo of Buddy and Willow made me laugh NannyT - from his expression Buddy looks unimpressed lol

Dragonfly what a brave thing to do and totally sensible. Will you use it as an excuse to wear a variety of hats? Its perfect weather for some lovely woolly ones and I notices in Primark whilst shopping with the QOTU that they have some wide, turban like soft headband things ( Im sure they have a proper name !!)

GrannyG sounds wonderful. I have a photo on my wall of the elephant heard we saw in Kenya against the backdrop of Kilimanjaro- so impressive. Hope you're taking lots of pictures !!

The Queen of the Universe had a wonderful weekend and so did we. Her birthday cake was a work of art ( which made up for the dire results of my flower topped cupcakes lol ) . Ive posted a couple of pictures.

Happy day all x

annsixty Wed 13-Nov-19 07:40:55

You are all very kind advising me about the advisability of only buying largr bottles of gin.
I hasten to assure you that I continue to be environmentally aware and the only time I have ever bought small bottles has been on a plane, I do like to do my little bit ?

Cold but I assume dry here in Stockport this morning.
I haven't been out of the house since last Thursday, first world situation I know but however did we manage before freezers and online shopping.

I am going to make my morning tea now.
Have as good a day as you can everyone.

Nannytopsy Tue 12-Nov-19 23:23:05

Ann it’s more environmentally friendly to buy fewer big bottles rather than more small ones ... grin

dragonfly46 Tue 12-Nov-19 22:18:38

Buddy and Willow are gorgeous!

Doodle Tue 12-Nov-19 20:53:24

maw that is a lovely poem. flowers
Love your cartoon maw,my sons dog , banned from the top floor of the house, now sleeps at the bottom of their bed....he won ?
morethan I am sure your DILs parents are suffering but your son is suffering too. I think any criticism of him from his in-laws is unwarranted, your poor DS is obviously having a hard time. I wish he would take your advice and see a GP.
dragonfly I am sure you are a delightful pixie and will look fetching in whatever you find to keep warm.
TOYA ?

MawB Tue 12-Nov-19 20:02:29

Nannytopsy - how sweet!

Charleygirl5 Tue 12-Nov-19 19:17:40

I was seriously considering moving in with Hattie- no more visits to kennels when her mother decides to abandon her, company whenever she wants to rest her eyes, what more could a beautiful lady want?

morethan what a pretty young lady your GD is and also so sensitive. Life is not easy at present for anybody and I agree, your DS needs expert help quickly as he is trying to keep the family together..

ann you actually save money by buying a larger bottle. You may drink it more quickly but who is checking?

Pleased to hear that Mr. Synonymous has had his sutures removed etc. He has coped so well with so much.

Tara is resting on my clean bedding- she is such a good girl.

corner I do hope that all is getting slowly better in cornerland- very difficult when both of you are unwell. It sounds as though Mr. Corner needs to get better quickly to attend to your needs.

Dear dragonfly Gentle hugs a plenty. Wear a soft and comfortable bonnet...as they say in bonnie Scotland. As ann says, the colourful turbans look very flattering. Go for something with pizzaz. smile

GrannyGravy I am just a wee bit envious. To see and feed the rare white rhino is a huge priviledge. Mankind has much to answer for. So little respect for what really matters in this world. It is beyond sad.

Nannytopsy A delightful photo of Buddy and Willow.

Time for log off. I may have a spin on my exercise bike. Nothing too strenuous. Just enough to recharge my batteries.

TOYA smile moon

Nannytopsy Tue 12-Nov-19 17:06:28

DS now has Buddy and his half sister Willow. So sweet! Our Charlie has discovered the pleasure of underfloor heating!
So sad to hear how things are for your family Morethan.
? for Dragonfly!

annsixty Tue 12-Nov-19 16:17:26

dragonfly
I do hope it hasn't upset you to lose your hair.
It is such a feminine thing isn't it.
I should love to see you in your beautiful turbans though, they should lift your spirits no end.

dragonfly46 Tue 12-Nov-19 16:13:59

Maw Hattie looks more than comfortable. My sister in law has rescue greyhounds and they are such sweet dogs.

Pleased Mr Synonymous is getting better - such a relief for you.

Hope you feel better soon kitty.

GG what an amazing experience. My DH's parents lived in Kenya when he was young and has wonderful pictures of the animals. They are all on slides unfortunately.

Well the deed is done. My dear hairdresser shaved my head for free and gave me some oil to put on my head. He is a treasure but it will be a while before I see him again. I didn't realise how much my ears stick out - I look like a pixie!
I am feeling the cold now though so keeping covered up.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 12-Nov-19 15:48:56

Good evening kitcheners (18.45 here in Kenya) I have been trying to keep up - unsuccessfully!!!!

I have beeen on my first safari today, and was extremely fortunate to see the last two northern white rhino in the world. This made me so sad, to think that humankind could destroy this beautiful gentle creature (and they are very gentle, we were hand feeding black rhino).

Cannot read all posts as internet drops in and out.

TOYA

soop Tue 12-Nov-19 15:39:45

ann I echo anno's post. Surely you deserve a full size bottle. It will last a little longer. wink

Maw Lovely tribute to Paw. Hattie looks ever so comfortable as she lolls on the sofa. She most certainly has a good home with you. Bless her.

morethan I agree that your granddaughter is a beautiful young lady. As for your dear son and his depression (which is perfectly understandable) he needs and deserves expert help. What you and your family has had to cope with for so long, would be unbearable without support.

An enormous get well (((hug))) for Mr Synonymous. I'm certain that you are giving him plenty of tender loving care.

Charleyg The advice given by granniesyb is well worth consideration. Give it a whirl.

kitty inflamed sinuses are beyond a buggeration. Our GP always stresses that steam inhalation is the best form of treatment.

Not such a bad day weatherwise. The waves are enormous. I love watching them crash over the rocks.
