I'll go first. I've got 3 handbags, 2 pairs of OK shoes, a pair of boots I'm not that keen on ,and a pair of trainers.

When I was working I used to buy new boots/shoes and bag,
from Russel & Bromley every Winter, I have still got all the
bags they are 20+ years old, but in total, I have 23 bags, and about 40 pairs of assorted shoes/boots/trainers/slippers/sandals. is that excessive?

I have shoes in many colours, and handbags to match. Strange when I want to wear a particular colourI have to go out to but some!

Handbags, about 10 - just can't throw them away. Shoes - too many to count. I have awkward sized feet, so if I find a pair that fits I buy them and add them too the 'stock'. Perhaps I should stop buying for a while.

I'm in Spain just now and seem to have almost as many shoes/sandals/flipflops etc. as I do in England. You can pick them up quite cheaply which is why I can't resist! Bags are my passion but probably use the same ones 4-5 consistently

Firstly I only wear trainers or flip flops depending on the weather.

I have 2 wardrobes full of shoe boxes. blush

Far too many of both. Confession over!

Two handbags and maybe ten pairs of assorted footwear, including slippers, sandals, and walking boots.

Regards handbags. I found it exasperating when I swapped handbags as I always seemed to have to go through them to find what I was looking for when going out. Annoying.

Then I hit on the idea of emptying my bag into a deep wicker tray when I come home. Now I just choose my handbag for the day, go to the wicker tray and pop in what I need as and when. Keys, tissues, lippy, purse etc - all in one place!

So much easier.

What can I say? I love shoes, I love handbags

WishIwasyounger Sun 13-Oct-19 10:27:40

When I moved into my small flat I had a clear out due to a lack of space. I now have one pair of walking boots, two pair sandals, three trainers, one pair slippers, two ankle boots, and one dress shoe. One handbag and one rucksack.
I'd used to love wearing heels due to my small size, but they've had to be got rid of.
I hope I don't sound bitter since my divorce.

I have 3 bags, 3 pairs of trainers, a pair of ankle boots, a pair of sandals, 4 pairs of different coloured pumps, 2 pairs of going out shoes, 2 pairs of slippers

grandtanteJE65 Sun 13-Oct-19 11:10:11

I have two pairs of smart boots, two pairs of heavy weather boots that I can be sure not to slip in, two pairs of shoes I regularly wear and two pairs of sandals that I live in all summer.

About six pairs of high heeled shoes and six handbags, plus two small backpacks.

And yes, I am going to keep them all, they are one of my very few luxuries and nearly all bought in charity shops.

I have a large Sainsbury bag of shoes that have to go. The ones I wear are in one of those pocket things hanging on door. All my bags are interesting preloved ones bought on eBay. They hang on brass hooks in my cabin filled with things like underwear and handkies. I use them for their proper purpose as well. Back to shoes....errrrr I awaiting delivery of two new pairs.

Grammaretto Sun 13-Oct-19 11:16:40

I'm still asking. Where do you keep them? Am I missing something? Do you keep them at the bottom of the wardrobe or in a special rack? The ones I've seen only hold a few pairs.
Perhaps you people, who have collections of shoes, have a dressing room? I'm imagining Downton here
I keep shoes until they fall apart, so some of mine are very old.
I do possess a pair of genuine 1920s 3 strap court shoe, in softest leather bought in the 1960s in an English seaside town which I used to wear a lot but alas one of the buttons broke and repairers nowadays can't fix it. Perhaps a museum would be interested?

Grammaretto Sun 13-Oct-19 11:23:15

crossed posts theoddbird. I never thought of a shoe hanger.

Craftycat Sun 13-Oct-19 11:30:51

Handbags- 10
Shoes- No idea but they have 3 shelves at the bottom of the wardrobe- I'd guess at about 40 pairs
I can't though them away.

Sara65 Sun 13-Oct-19 11:32:18

Grammaretto

Sadly no dressing room here!

I keep a lot in the bottom of my wardrobe, a lot in a guest room wardrobe, and anything in constant use, boots for work, at the moment, in a rack in the laundry room.

Barmeyoldbat Sun 13-Oct-19 11:32:39

Well I went mad this year and bought another pair of boots. So I now have

2 pairs of boots
1 pair of court shoes
walking boots
pair of wellies
I pair of sandals about to be binned.
No slippers, walk around in bare of soccer feet
Mr B has a pair of flip flops which I sometimes use to go outside in.
I fashion backpack
1 little handbag
No trainers at the moment they fell to bits.
Thats it.

Saggi Sun 13-Oct-19 11:39:04

4 pairs pumps....mid calf length boots.... pair Rocket Dog ankle boots...1 pair trainers...pair wellies...pair slippers. Don’t really wear ‘shoes’ . Pumps in summer, boots from October onwards.

Elcie Sun 13-Oct-19 11:42:43

I have several pairs of shoes, at least 5 pairs of knee high boots, 12 or so pairs of ankle boots, and goodness knows how many sandals/flip flops etc. That is without the 3 storage boxes in the loft with all the high heels I used to wear for work that I can’t bear to part with. Handbags about 25, but only 5 really good Radley ones, the rest are cheap and cheerful.
