Thread lift mini facelift or radiofrequency skin tightening? ?

I had radio frequency skin tightening. I think it worked but it doesn't last long. I don't know about mini thread facelifts but best of luck with whichever you decide to go with. Another option is have you thought about trying facial exercises? There is lots of information on the internet.

My daughter had a thread lift,she didn't think it made much difference, but i don't think she needed it so wouldn't have looked a lot different on her
There are 2 different kinds of thread lift,the most popular one called a PDO which i think is less invasive,as the other one has little cones put under the skin which can be tightened later if necessary,i wouldn't like this one if i was having one,my daughter had the pdo one
Radio frequency i tried a couple of years ago, supposed to build collagen, didn't make any difference and the result isn't immediate
I would go for the thread lift if you want an immediate result

Have been for the consultation, still completely undecided as to what to do so I’m going up next Wednesday to see the Doctor who does the thread lift....??? because therapist eyesore today didn’t know much about that just told me about the radio-frequency et cetera ...

I was reading yesterday on mumsnet that Sarah Ferguson had a thread lift, and other work done for Beatrices wedding,as she is coming up to 60
I don't know what the prices are in general now for threadlifts, my dentist does them for £1000, and i think it can be as much as £3000, which i wouldn't pay,as they don't last a long time,probably 2 years i think,but then think how much you could spend on other cosmetics, in 2 years
Some cosmetic surgeons apparently don't think they are worth doing,but they maybe would like you to spend your money on a surgical facelift instead

I think you'd have to have money to burn to pay these extortionate prices to knock a few years off your age! Why can't people grow old gracefully like Judy Dench or the Duchess of Cornwall ? So much more dignified and frankly believable ! Hands are usually the give away!!

Shinamae if it's going to make you feel better, go for it, why do we have to look old if we don't feel it,
I have no intention of growing old gracefully, i'm not a rocking chair and slippers type and why should we not want to look our best,
It wont turn back the clock but will make you feel younger and more alive
I think how you look makes a difference , to how you feel

Jabberwock do you really think Judy Dench and other celebrities don't have anything done,i know Judy Dench has, and others,
They just keep it quiet if they can

No one is suggesting rocking chair and slippers! A smart hair cut + discreet (probably expensive) makeup, a good figure, decent posture, a pleasant expression and well cut clothes, all at a quarter, if not less of the cost, no danger of looking foolish, and those give away hands (and neck!) won't ever be a problem!!

Well, these ladies certainly look their appropriate age, while looking very good, so not much point in having treatment if it it doesn't make any obvious difference!!

Judy dench and others in the public eye all have procedures, they just have more expensive ones that aren’t so obvious!
Same applies to men nowadays.
Check out old films or tv appearances, if you look carefully you’ll see the nips and tucks!!
I’d have something done but I’m too squeamish, plus I think if I looked at myself that long I’d find no end of things to change....and I don’t have a bank balance or rich toyboy so I’ll just carry on carrying on!!

No harm in looking the best you can, and a few nips and tucks is not going the whole hog and looking like a plastic doll, i don't want to look on the outside what i don't feel on the inside,
Looking good makes me feel good, and i think as people get older their confidence goes a bit, so if it helps why not
I would rather spend a bit of money on feeling good ,as i don't smoke or drink it's my choice of what i do spend my money on

Well, everyone on Gransnet always seem very reluctant to admit to being old. In fact, you would think it was something that will bring shame and embarrassment upon you. So, I'm just surprised everyone isn't going in for these procedures.

Shinamae I had weight loss due to illness, looked like my face fell off. Had three lots of laser skin tightening followed by very discreet cheek fillers. Am I happy, bet your life I am. Worked hard all my life and can afford to spend my money however I like. Blondenana and I agree with doing what makes happy. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Shinamae I have a lot of loose skin under my chin (inherited trait). The older I got the more it collapsed in a "puddle" - so I had a procedure when I was about 65, ultrasound and a type of liposuction in that area that also tightened up the skin. The doc who did it said it would probably 'hold' until I was about 75 and after that my neck skin might head South again. I reckoned that at that age I would accept the 'age gracefully doctrine' Whilst the results were not dramatic, I was happy with it. Like MacCavity I had worked hard and paid for it myself. Having said all the above, I've not had any other "work" done apart from having facials for special occasions, a real treat. (My mother was very vain, I blame her - joke!)

A conservative friend had what she calls 'baby botox' (in other words just a little) because she had a very severe frown and she was teaching littlies, she said the children would ask her whether she was cross . So she is happy too and no longer scaring the children (another joke)!

Good luck whatever you decide, there are so many options these days.

Thank you all for your encouraging words ( well the majority of you anyway! ?) I am going up to Exeter again next Wednesday to get more information and after that consultation I think I will have to decide. I personally don’t like the idea of needles in my face, mind you I don’t like the sound of the thread lift either!! So I might just go for the radiofrequency skin tightening but I will let you know and again thank you so much for your positivity ?
