Oh Dear! When I opened this thread I was thinking of serious, clever innovative apps for Alexa, possibly with a prize for the one voted the best, similar to the Nobel awards!
Now that the thread has been hi-jacked for other purposes all I can do, not having an Alexa, is join in and ask can her volume be controlled and can the tonal range of her farts be finessed from bass through soprano and so on? Just asking! No demos please!

DGC asked Alexa where she came from and she said she was Cloudian she lives in the cloud . I expect she is reading all my kindle book I have stored there.

Have your DGC found The Fart Song” on Alexa? That causes great merriment with our three, it was about the first thing Alexa was asked to play. (Cannot remember if that is the correct title but dare not check it out right now. Bit early to have that blasting through the house, could have a nasty effect on DH).

I read an article that stated that Amazon employees do listen in, including your most intimate moments.

DH has just tried this and now went can't her to stop!?

Daisiemae do you have a smart phone? If you do, you are being monitored/eavesdropped on quite a bit!

A work colleague said that we were mad to have an Amazon Echo (Alexa) as "they" could listen to us! Well, if "they" want to listen our discussions about bathroom taps etc, "they"are welcome!

The devices can eavesdrop on me daisimae, they will soon get bored.

Other devices that can eavesdrop are baby alarms and certain security cameras.

Wrong! Alexa has no capability to eavesdrop. Now Siri...that’s a different kettle of fish.

Just amazing that people are happy to let these devices eavesdrop on all conversation. Talk about big brother!

We introduced farting to 2 of our DVDs- their dad was horrified, especially as they ordered the extension pack.

I tried it on my Google Assistant. She said "I'm sorry, I'm afraid I can't help you with that at the moment".

My DGS ( don’t you just love ‘em?) is 9 . He has just discovered that you can ask Alexa to fart . She obliges and then goes on to ask if you would like another type of fart ?

Blimey lots of farting going on in my house last night . My silly boy GS was rolling the floor with laughter

Not quite sure Alexa! We'll need a report from a structural engineer as to the safe load-bearing capacity of your mantelpiece in order to comply with regs. Subject to confirmation we'll have stick with the "Alexa-lite model, but thank you for your interest!
