Thermogene - like a sheet of pink cotton wool, impregnated with some kind of vapour which was laid on my chest when I had a cough. Likewise kaolin poultices put on one's chest scalding hot. I had enormous ones applied when I was in hospital with pneumonia in 1946. Torture!

Yes, Spangles. Old English Spangles were my favourite, especially the black one, liquorice flavour. The Beezer Comic that sometimes came with a free gift. Happy daze......

Home perms. My mum had trained as a hairdresser and used to give her friends perms at home. Our house would stink of perm lotion. Remember the ad : 'Which twin has the Toni'?

Armani hair wave lotion.

Sachets of shampoo. I used to make mine last two washes.

Pretend cigarettes. I used to love them as a child and felt very grown up pretending to smoke.

You can still get iced gems. I remember them as being very nice but, in my view, they taste horrible now.

Amagran and loulelady Those rain hats were called rainmates. Sometimes free with a magazine.

Collecting cards from the packets of loose tea - was it Brooke Bond? You could buy a book for the cards for a sixpence - if you had one!

Small round tins of solid toothpaste - Gibbs? It was very abrasive.

Does anyone remember the dolls of the world cut-out dressing up costumes on the back of Rice Crispies packets? I remember my mum going through all the packets to trying to find one I hadn't got.

I remember the Corona man too - and cap guns and rockets and pretend cigarettes. They were fun, but they didn't encourage me to smoke. So many things on here that I remember - tin/zinc baths in front of the fire, kaolin poultices, great big mangle, cigarette cards and bubble gum cards. Oh, and Smiths crisps with that elusive salt in a screw of blue paper.

Oh gosh yes, Feelingmyage55, Gibbs Dentifrice in round tins, blue or green. Orange juice in medical flats with turquoise blue lids. Izal toilet paper had to be crushed and crumpled and worked in the hands to try to soften it before use....!

I don't remember the cut out dolls of the world Amagran but I had a few, maybe half a dozen little dolls about 6 inches tall in national costume for birthday and Christmas. I loved them
I never used the Izal I would have imagined squares of newspaper would have been kinder.

Comics....oh yes. Beezer, Topper, Dandy, Beano, then the girls' ones Bunty and Judy followed by Princess which was for very grown up young ladies of 11 or 12. I was also a member of Muffin the Mule Club but lost my Muffin badge out of a train window. I was heartbroken seeing it sitting such a long way down on the ciders below.

I also had several I-Spy books and loved looking for things and answering the questions. Sights of London, The Seaside, In the Street, The Farm, The Country.
