Looks like the Daily Mail is being sued by them regarding a private letter from the Duchess to her estranged father.

Who is behind the letter being shown to the paper? An unhappy member of their staff? Or Mr. Markle maybe?

Gonegirl Thu 03-Oct-19 13:36:44

I enjoy being honest.

lemongrove Thu 03-Oct-19 13:31:19

I know you enjoy being contentious Gonegirl .....but don’t overdo it.wink

Gonegirl Thu 03-Oct-19 13:27:26

They have acted beautifully in carrying out their royal duties. The haters should shut up. Keep it to themselves. Don't pollute the rest of the country with it.

Gonegirl Thu 03-Oct-19 13:25:37

Shouldn't the "public purse" support them in their royal duties, but not in their private lives?

Can we really own the Royal Family lock, stock and barrel?

lemongrove Thu 03-Oct-19 13:19:28

No Summerlove It’s nothing to do with colour, it’s the way that William and Kate behave ( extremely well) Kate isn't from the aristocracy but has understood the limits of what the RF can do without being criticised.
Meghan seems to behave as an actress/ celebrity with royalty as an added extra.
It isn’t...it’s a way of life and duty comes high on the list followed by the acceptance that you follow certain protocols.
Being ‘private’ is not an option when the public purse supports you.
There may be some people who decry the fact that she isn’t white ( she is actually a lovely colour) and is American, but very few I believe. It’s the way she and Harry have acted ever since their marriage.Perhaps they might consider withdrawing into private life and giving up titles and any monies from the public, and then doing and saying whatever they like.

Gonegirl Thu 03-Oct-19 13:16:59

Not even a tiny, secret, little niggling bit of envy jennifereccles? Luxury yachts? Sunshine on tap? Waited on hand and foot?

No? Cor! You're a better woman than me.

JenniferEccles Thu 03-Oct-19 13:10:07

Then I think you need to go to a certain optician gonegirl

I know I don't need to stress this any more than I have, but I honestly am not envious of ANY royal.

It is perfectly possible to criticise someone without being in the slightest bit jealous of them or their life and I can't believe that you don't know that.

bingo12 Thu 03-Oct-19 12:53:37

Davidhs - re. Princess Anne - she is regularly top of the list of number of ''Royal Duties'' performed every year - putting in the most.
She just doesn't make a fuss about them. She has not ''withdrawn from public life''.

Davidhs Thu 03-Oct-19 12:39:13

OK Gillybob we’ve got the message - you don’t like Meghan and Harry.
As a casual observer I don’t think they deserve the hassle they have had and they have my sympathy. But we are where we are and they will have made enemies in the media, win or loose the current issue.
They might decide to tolerate the criticism in future, more likely they will withdraw from public life, just like Anne, they’re not going to be destitute, they can still follow the causes they support but not officially.

Gonegirl Thu 03-Oct-19 12:30:09

Oh I think you'll find they are celebrities AB.

Gillybob good.

Jennifereccles the jealousy shines out. Blindingly.

Gonegirl Thu 03-Oct-19 12:28:19

He married a celeb with rich friends. Why shouldn't he take them up on invites during the Summer holidays? Travel by scheduled flights in future though. Not private jets. Not if he wants to get his planet saving ideas over.

gillybob Thu 03-Oct-19 12:28:05

I am not angry thank you gonegirl and really don't know why I even joined in this conversation so late in the day.

To be honest I don't give a sh*t about these entitled nobodies (or the rest of their ever extending family for that matter) for that is exactly what they are to me....nobodies.

From now on I shall concentrate my feelings towards people and things that really concern me, instead of wasting my valuable sleep/ tea drinking/loo visiting/paint drying time on those I really don't give a stuff about.

Thank you again for making me sit up and realise smile

JenniferEccles Thu 03-Oct-19 12:27:19

I think I can safely say Gonegirl that no one on here is remotely jealous of H and M just fed up to the back teeth with all their whinging hypocrisy lecturing the rest of us whilst indulging their private jet habit.

I for one wish they would stay in Africa with Ms ‘sisters ‘ as she cringingly called them.

Anniebach Thu 03-Oct-19 12:27:03

That’s the root of the problem, they are not celebrities but want a celebrity life style.

MissAdventure Thu 03-Oct-19 12:24:29

I would expect any decent man to try and protect his wife.

Their luxury lifestyle is a whole different issue, in my opinion, and is not a lot different from any other celebrity hypocrisy.

Gonegirl Thu 03-Oct-19 12:19:05

The fact that you are getting so angry gillybob says a lot more about you than it does about them. I would want to hide feelings like that. Or do something about them.

Gonegirl Thu 03-Oct-19 12:17:34

He is not jumping on her bandwagon. For goodness sake! He loves his wife and his son. He wants to protect them. What happened to his mother must have had a huge influence on him.

He made a good justifiable statement. Which is more than most of the mean minded posts on this thread are.

Put your jealousy away and find something better to do than add to this horrible thread

gillybob Thu 03-Oct-19 12:14:24

MM had no issue with her "friends" giving her letters to print in magazines

They are a pair of bleedin' two faced hypocrites . One rule for them and another for everyone else.

gillybob Thu 03-Oct-19 12:12:52

Of course he is well. Would he have us all as complete idiots.

Playing the sympathy card is pretty dodgy when your actions simply don't add up.

Gonegirl Thu 03-Oct-19 12:10:33

Who said he's not well? Looks the picture of health to me.

pinkquartz Thu 03-Oct-19 12:05:51

MM had no issue with her "friends" giving her letters to print in magazines.

She is upset that her father gave the Mail on S part of her letter to him.
The only law broken is the law of copyright. That's all.

MM and PH are using celeb solicitors and not the ones used by the RF.

I think they are making a point here in saying they see themselves as celebs first and foremost. RF second. That will be tricky to ride out in the future.

GrannyGravy13 Thu 03-Oct-19 11:53:53

Soldiers that served with Harry have nothing but praise for him.

gillybob Thu 03-Oct-19 11:51:35

Or, just perhaps, because they are both white and both British

What a complete load of rubbish Summerlove. The UK publics lack of enthusiasm towards MM has nothing whatsoever to do with colour or race. I happen to think she is a very beautiful woman. It is however everything to do with the fact that she and her husband are a pair of entitled, luvvy hypocrites who preach to us about climate change and the state of the world, when they are two of the biggest abusers.

Summerlove Thu 03-Oct-19 11:41:25

He and Meghan should have a think about why William and Kate don’t have these problems. It’s because they do things by the book and don’t go in for showy or emotional outbursts.

Or, just perhaps, because they are both white and both British.
Two things the duchess of Sussex wasn’t born as, and that people can’t seem to either forgive or get past.

gillybob Thu 03-Oct-19 11:20:38

Having had so much bad press of late regrading their CC hypocrisy, I think if they are just trying to play the sympathy card.
