LondonGranny….I use bags all the time, but not for a cream tea!!
I like the whole thing to have a 'homemade' attention to detail, quality about it.
Not like a conveyer belt.

Try The Connaught Gardens in Sidmouth, Devon but only if you can manage large portions! You can choose to have either 1 or 2 scones with your cream tea

Agree with 'no to squirty cream' but not worried about whether clotted or whipped double though. The jam and scones have to be good too though. I did once have a cream tea where the cup of tea was a bag in a mug though!

Had lunch at The Swan in Bibury two weeks ago, but haven’t had a cream tea since July ( in Devon) the only cream teas worth having, are in Devon or in Cornwall.

Lovely idea. We always check that the cream is clotted. Anything else and we leave.

Great idea - but squirty cream on scones - NO - I could not give any cream tea with squirty cream more than 5

Lovely idea for getting out and about. One more cream tea can be found in the Cotswolds - either westonbirt or batsford. Autumn is the perfect time. XX
