Ah, I got a wizzit for my 88 year old aunt. She keeps it on the coffee table in the lounge and sits watching TV with wizzit in one hand, G&T in the other!

I pull out any harsh looking ones then go over with one of these. Had one for about 20 years just replace battery now and then. Easy shaves off no pain.

Why is it that the hair on my head is getting thinner and thinner but my facial hair gets stronger, one of life's mysteries.

After trying many things, sometime ago i purchased a small, neat re-chargeable ladies razor.

This works for me perfectly easy and quick to use, and totally painless. I was worried at first that it might leave a nasty dark stub, but this has not ocurred.

Would not use anything else now.

Personall,y having had visible dark stiff hairs on my face since I was about 20, I have had recourse to electrolysis and it is very effective.

I just use tweezers, but can almost guarantee that however many times I’ve promised myself to keep a pair in my bag, somehow they’ll have vanished when we’re off somewhere in the car, and I’ll realise that there’s one hairy monster dangling there and laughing at me.

I've got a little Braun epilator that I do my top lip and chin with. Really quick and effective.

I know this is an old thread (pun not intended!), but I’ll just put in a word for the Epistick. Available on Amazon and EBay, they’re around 3 quid and are little spring thingies that work on the principle of threading. I’m on my second, but that’s since I got the first one for under a pound around ten years ago. Once you’ve got the technique of them they work on proper hairs and peach fuzz, though they do nip a bit.

I did think about it (briefly, when I was working and had more money), but I was told it doesn't always work very effectively if you are fair-haired. Does anyone know if this is the case? It's a lot of money to spend if it doesn't work.

Laser works best on dark hairs, but they do come back over time. Threading is the best, if you live somewhere that has it available. Or go on holiday to Turkey! Beautician there removed everything!

I used to know a girl who’d been a beautician in an area with a lot of Muslim families. She told me that she’d often done a ‘pre wedding’ session for brides, where every single body hair was removed! Eeek!

Laser does NOT work on fair hairs. Electrolosys is the only permanent solution.

Thanks for that, that was my fear. No point in forking out lots of money on a treatment which isn't going to work.

I hadn’t realised that (I have dark hair) so apologies for misleading. My practitioner did say, however, that it’s no good on grey hair but they can get round this by using a type of dye. Most salons will offer a free consultation before any treatment.

I have an epilator which I bought to use on my legs (about £15 in Lidl a few years ago). I have 3 stubborn under chin hairs which grow at a ridiculous rate and one day after finishing on my legs I ran it under my chin with amazing results.
Since then I have started doing my face with it too. It does raise a few bumps which calm down overnight after a rub with aloe gel and the upper lip does hurt when doing it but no pain, no gain.?

I use a Flawless. Great little gizmo. £20 in Boots a few years ago.
