Morning all!
We are safely returned from a weekend of fun and totally shattered. The party was excellent in the best tradition of family parties ( but when did I become the obligatory grandma??? I used to be one of the 'young ones' lol) . I shall add a couple of pictures of my favourite people !!
I can see it being a day or two before we are fully recovered :-) but oh so worth it !!
Good luck today Dragonfly , hope you're back here soon ! And good luck for the trip today NannyT , its always a concern for our lovely pets until all is settled .
OUCH ! Callgirl that was a close shave and could have been so much worse. Hope your fingers are not too bad. Our birthday girl just spent 2 weeks in Cornwall and managed to stand on a weaver fish whilst there. In true form she just stuck a plaster on it and ended up in A & E 3 days ago to have the spine cut out of her ( now infected) foot!!
Sounds like a wonderful trip Maw , hope the camera batteries are charged too- looking forward to hearing all about it .
I am off to catch up with all the coming and goings in the kitchen and will be back later ! x

to Dragonfly ?
N&G Love the photos. Especially one taken with Grampy. The joy shines for those smiling faces.
callgirl1 Yet another buggeration. Burns hurt something awful As do weaver fish spines. Hoping for birthday girl's smart recovery, N&G
dragonfly
We are thinking of you. xxx
Feline number six was trapped last night. En route to the Lochgilphead vet for surgery. One remains to be trapped. I hadn't realised that the family was that large.
I spoke with the retired GP who managed to trap the cats. He, his family, together with we two, have an arrangement whereby we take it in turns to feed the creatures. There is a maze of barns. The cats use one particular barn for food. No one knows where they call "home". It is best to leave that long standing arrangement undisturbed.
A painting awaits. Even though I say so meself, it's looking "promising".
Dragonfly keeping you in thought and prayer xx
With you so much in thought and loving prayers Dragonfly
Sending dragonfly love,thoughts and prayers.?
Lovely photos nannyandgrampy.Sounds like an exhausting but great weekend.
Soop, glad the painting is going well and hope you are enjoying painting again?
dragonfly you are in my thoughts.
Dragonfly, sending love and thoughts. ???
Maw...Enjoy!
Susan I am never totally satisfied with my attempts to capture a likeness but...I shall persevere.
Neighbour needs a lift into Campbeltown to pick up his van from the garage. As MacSporran has hurt his lower back, I shall volunteer to drive.
For the time being, I shall log off. Care home visit in the morning. Then feed the felines. After which, I shall pop into our kitchen for catch-up.
TOYA Especially dragonfly

N&G those children are growing so rapidly and the 4th child who lives with you looks so content!!! Is Sam okay?
Tara I think will be happier when this house is back to normal- she spends a lot of time attached to me.
dragonfly it is all over- I hope you are painfree and have a rapid recovery.
TOYA
Too late to send wished to dragonfly before so I am adding mine to the best wishes after group and wishing you a speedy recovery ??
We enjoyed another good day in Glasgow, visiting the amazingly eclectic Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum then a walk around the leafy green Botanical Gardens. Places I remember so fondly from my childhood, there were a lot of wet afternoons to occupy! Heading north the weather isn’t so great but armed with waterproofs we will survive!
Love the family fun photos n&g, grampy is looking very trim indeed and I’ll bet you don’t look like the old grandma at all!
panache it’s lovely to hear how settled you are in your new home, it was a long time coming but sounds like it was worth the wait. Hoping all’s gone well for dragonfly today. Good luck with that painting soop, I know from experience just how talented you really are. Poor Tara charley disruption at home is worse for the pets than for us I think, but I’ll bet she is enjoying any extra cuddles on offer
I do so hope that all went well for Dragonfly.
N&G, my fingers are much better thank you, just a slight tingle. You talking of weaver fish made me remember the first time we visited Gorran Haven in Cornwall. People were leaving the sea in droves after inadvertently standing on weaver fish. The little shop by the beach had a line of people sitting outside with their feet in bowls of warm water with paracetermol added. Love the photos by the way.
I hope that MacSporran`s back is getting better, at least it should keep him off those high ladders!
Poor Tara, cats do so hate disruption to their daily routine.
Lynne just nearly gave me a heart attack. She was hobbling past me, caught her foot on the fender and fell into the fireplace surround. I didn`t think I`d get to her in time, but luckily I did. She may weigh less than 6st, but she feels like 2 ton Tessie (remember her?)!
Poor Lynne - hope there are no bruises. We are awake bright and early - of course! Hope you are comfortable today Dragonfly.
Morning all,
Poor Lynne , hope she has suffered no ill effects from her near miss. ( I remember 2 tonne Tessie Callgirl , no political correctness back then eh? lol )
I finally feel human again. I remember the nights when I could party, get 3 hours sleep and do a 12 hour days work , now one party and a 200 mile drive and I'm dead on my feet for 2 days!!
Yes, our daughter foolishly thought she had stood on a jelly fish ( she should have known better !!) and treated her foot for a sting not a weaver fish spine. She was lucky it wasn't worse. I did chuckle though, she took the Queen of the Universe to A & E ( she wants to be a nurse) and she was thrilled that the doctor let her watch closely the extraction of the spines . She said it was thrilling ;-)
Lovely pictures GrannieQ . I may not look like the old grandma but I feel like it some days lol !!
We are off for a treat today as we took a slimming holiday !! I see cake in my immediate future !!
Ill leave you with the last of the party pictures ! We all laughed when my SiL used a blow torch to light the candles on the cake !!
Trusting the dastardly must have deed is over Dragonfly and now the only way is up........and recovery.Lots of love sent your way
It seems that a move is now on the cards Nanytopsy so good luck along with settling in an elderly worried poor cat after quite a journey.
Amazing party pictures though it seems my partying days are behind me!
As always some stunning pictures GQ.........you always impress us and these are no exception.
A quiet day ahead although in this place one never can be too sure!!
Wishing you all a peaceful one enjoying whatever it is you have planned.TOYA xx
Just popping in to thank all you lovely people for your good wishes. I am now waiting for the necessary paperwork to go home with the dreaded drain - soop will know what I mean. Apparently things went well but have to get used to being a uniboob!
dragonfly,so glad to hear from you and to hear that your operation went well and that you are on your way home.Rest and recuperation now.?
So pleased all went well dragonfly. Please protect your bed tonight with old towelling. If you have it you will not need it!
TOYA
Glad all has gone smoothly Dragonfly now rest up and look after yourself
Hi Dragonfly - I am new to this thread so was unaware of your op. I am assuming you had a mastectomy - I would just like to say I had one over 20 years ago and all is well. Take it easy and let everyone make a big fuss of you.
I did have a reconstruction some 3 years later and have never regretted it!
