Soop, since a lot of wood pulp comes from France, McSporran is very sensible to stockpile loo rolls! We have run our Brexit boxes down but we restock after the move. Essentials - coffee, loo rolls, detergents, cat food, tinned tomatoes. And if they are not needed it will save on shopping later!

Mr and Mrs Baggs have taken their leave of our wee home. We have spent a lovely, chatty, most informative afternoon with them. Mr Baggs has taught us such a lot of useful information regarding many species of wild life. x Baggs baked special delicious biscuits for us. x We wish them a safe journey home.

Well, I was right about one thing. I did almost nothing useful today either .

Managed lunch in a garden centre followed by an excellent scone (no, not one of mine, they have been consigned to the bin). A neighbour was whisked away in an ambulance this morning, my useful activity has been to feed her cat. I’m a bit worried I won’t remember in the morning. .

I’m pleased baggs and mrb were able to call soop, lovely to see good friends. I can understand your concerns for the cats but am certain they will be fine, as the vet says just retreated to recover their dignity. Boxes sound just the thing for them.

I like the sound of that tree synonymous, I wasn’t permitted to bring any growing items home today, apparently Mr C has declared our garden to be full. . In fairness it looks that way but looks can be deceptive as we know.

It was absolutely lovely to see soop and macsporran at their cosy home today. We have been meeting in various places since the early days of Gransnet.

The sea was glorious. The wind was strong, bracing. MrBaggs and I had enjoyed some time at the Macrihanish Seabird & Wildlife Observatory—gannets (especially gannets), seals, manx shearwater, bonxie (Arctic skua), widgeon, curlews and more.

Baggs that sound like a cracking day’s watching. I have yet to see bonxies - you don’t get many in Leicester.

Our garden is getting rather full too corner but I can't resist! We have some super stuff now but we did have quite a bit of space to fill to start with so I have really enjoyed myself. The tree has now been planted by our gardening friend and it looks very promising as I had it pruned to ensure it would be tall, slim and elegant. Wonders if it would work for me too?!?!

P.S. Tell MrC there is always room for a little un!

We have just arrived in West Wales for a week's holiday with 2 of our AC. We are staying at Llangranog where we have stayed several times before. I am sitting in bed drinking tea and listening to the waves! Does anyone else know Llangranog. I love it here! Wishing everyone a happy and peaceful day.

Synonymous----we've had one of those trees for a good many years now; we always refer to it as Sir Sid. Initially, it was spindly and had a gap in the crown, but now its big and beautiful in all seasons.

There's a huge specimen in the local NT garden and it's really amusing in early autumn to see the puzzled look on visitors' faces as they try to work out where the aroma of burnt toffee is coming from.

Hello the kitchen. Just thought I would have a look in as I have a spare five minutes to pick up my iPad and lo and behold, we have a new kitchen! I’m sorry, I haven’t a hope in hell of catching up for at least another week, but good to see you are all in good form and welcome to all new kitcheners! Momb, we visited Llangranog last year after spending a day in Newquay. It was lovely and I wish we had had more time there. We were staying in Aberaeron at the time. Enjoy your holiday!

Can’t believe the kitchen is onto P 2 already - well on my iPad anyway.
Car problems Charleygirl always seem to involve £££££££ I decided to pay up for mine but at the back of my mind I fear another car may be necessary within the year (or two).
Mind you the problem was nearly solved for me on my drive home from Birmingham on Friday evening by a complete ar*ehole who swerved across to my (inside) lane just before Watford Gap services, presumably thinking that I was going to go up the slip road. (I wasn’t and hadn’t indicated I was or anything) I was able to swerve onto the hard shoulder and manage a long angry hoot when I could spare a hand, but it shook me (and made me glad I did have an airbag after all)
That sort of thing does the confidence no good at all although it is a journey I have done hundreds of times and am usually quite relaxed about ???

We love the Llangrannog area, had some lovely holidays in that area when ours were small and also enjoyed a couple of good holidays on our own a few years back. Beautiful beaches and good coastal walks, enjoy your holiday!

Currently staying with a friend in Glasgow on our way north. By coincidence it’s the anniversary of my fathers death, 42 years ago this weekend. So lots of reminiscing, yesterday had a walk in a park he used to take me to as child. Happy memories but some sadness too that he missed so much of my adult life.

OMG Maw that could so easily have been permanent curtains. There are so many clowns on the road- they see somebody with grey hair and instantly decide she does not know where she is going. I indicate all of the time and it has saved me a few scrapes.

I agree, I thought I was putting down a deposit for another car! I cannot get rid of this one, it would be economically stupid because my driving days are numbered.

My stairlift decided to take a permanent holiday late Friday afternoon. An engineer could not come until the 11th September. The mechanism is 10 years old, well past its sell by date so I decided to get a new one. Amazingly a surveyor is arriving tomorrow pm and because I am so desperate it can probably be fitted on Tuesday! My apologies if I have mentioned this before but the mind has also taken a break.

I slept in my own bed in my "new" bedroom last night and it was bliss. Tara was not over enthused that I did not surface until after 9 am.

The builder will be returning next Friday to fit the new
wardrobe doors- that is if they ever arrive on Thursday.

A friend and neighbour is taking me out for coffee on Wednesday and another with a child of 18 n=months has also invited me to pop in. I do have some lovely neighbours here, one reason why I never want to move.

soop I ma sure once Brodie has licked his wounds and had a few meals in the recent abode he will hopefully return because I am sure he does not associate you with his latest trauma.

The weather here is glorious.

I am to the kitchen today....... I have so many tomatoes that I am making my Grans tomato chutney (recipe is about 150 years old as it was her Mums).

Then roast pork with crackling and all the trimmings.

No intentions of leaving the house!!
