Packing time!
Which pearls to pack?
I’ve ordered a new string but they won’t arrive until November. They’re my my 75th birthday present to myself.
Tomorrow would have been my mother’s 100th birthday if she was still alive.
She was born on the 09/09/1919.

Galen Sun 08-Sept-19 22:09:53

The pic is of my mother

Galen Sun 08-Sept-19 22:16:19

Another. Taken at Falkirk

Lins1066 Sun 08-Sept-19 22:17:20

Galen A lovely photograph of your mother, a face full of character.

cornergran Sun 08-Sept-19 22:18:29

Many congratulations tanith to you all. He is indeed a wondrous baby.

Galen how lovely to share that. Enjoy your pearls too! Xxxx

callgirl1 Sun 08-Sept-19 23:17:42

A lovely photo of your mother Galen.

annodomini Mon 09-Sept-19 00:03:45

Great picture of your mother Galen. I think I can see a likeness. Where are you cruising to this time? Is there a cruise you haven't yet been on?
Quite envious, Tanith, of your lovely GGS. I want one too! Or a GGD, of course.

Enjoy your cruise galen. Where are you off to? Your mother looks strong and full of character in her photos. Thank you for sharing.

kittylester Mon 09-Sept-19 07:33:00

I too can see a likeness galen. Where are you off to this time?

Greyduster Mon 09-Sept-19 09:25:14

Hello the kitchen! Back in the old routine for us here with the first school run of the new term this afternoon. Haven’t seen the boy in over a week; I was getting withdrawal symptoms!

Galen Lovely photo of your mother - I too can see a likeness. I see my mother every time I look at my DD.

Tanith, well, he was truly worth the wait! A beautiful GGS. I can sympathise with your granddaughter - my daughter came out at 9lb 2oz. She must have been glad to have it over with! Happy they are both doing well!

Soop the photos of Mila and Teddy are lovely - children do love a beach at any age.

I have it on reasonably good authority that it is N&G’s birthday today. I’m sure the kitchen will join me in wishing her a very happy day and much ??!

I will look in later.

Tanith what a handsome boy. He does look very sturdy. Well done to mum. Feeling a bit yuk today. We have had to cancel ourS panish holiday due to start on Wednesday, after my stay in hospital. However, we have booked a short stay in Lower Largo in Fife. It is a small cottage built on the site Alexander Selkirks birthplace. There is a statue of him outside the front door. Not quite the Spanish sunshine but should be a nice wee break.

N&G HAPPY birthday with all manner of goodies thrown in for good measure. Us lot have all made virtual calorie-free cake. However, if I were you, I would tuck into the real thing and to hell with the calories. flowers

Galen Your dear Mum had a kind and characterful face. Yes...I can see a real likeness. As for the pearls...Yay! Where are you orf to next? Any room in your cabin for all your devoted pals? grin

We've been to feed the feral feline family in the old barn. With luck, the entire family has had the necessary op' to prevent further reproduction. It's in their interest to keep the numbers down. Otherwise, within a year, the colony will be beyond manageable.

That cat I've been bangin' on about, is still proving to be unpaintable. I'm hoping to start portrait number four today. If that also fails to please me, I shall "shelve it" for a wee while and begin a another painting of a pretty canine.

A huge happy birthday to N&G, cupcake, wine, party. thanks for the tip off greyd. Hope is a more cheerful day in Norfolk, positively falling down here.

The makings of several cottage pies are bubbling in the slow cooker, Mr C has done the ironing and is now watching a seriously silly film, after lunch a fate worse than death awaits me with the filing. Still, I'll feel virtuous afterwards. grin.

Sorry about the painters block, soop it must be more than frustrating.

Routine is good greyd, wish we had some hmm. I try, I truly do and then someone comes along and scuppers it. Enjoy seeing the boy, I'm sure he'll be pleased to see you too.

Right, what can we have for lunch? Best go and search the fridge.

TOYA and take care everyone.

annsixty Mon 09-Sept-19 13:11:05

Happy birthday N&G, enjoy it all.
Beautiful baby tanith congratulations to the whole family.
Hope everyone is well, I have a fleece on today, it isn’t very warm here.
I am told to expect an Indian summer next week, we shall see.
Life is not a lot of fun just now, on the other hand it is not bad, just frustrating.
TOYA.

Carillion01 Mon 09-Sept-19 15:32:35

Happy Birthday N&G, hope you're having a lovely day ??

Soop, hoping your painting is underway x

Still trying to finish the Rowandean embroidery which turned out to have organza ribbon stitches ? but will keep going ....!

callgirl1 Mon 09-Sept-19 16:17:04

Gransal, I saw that cottage many years ago, 1956, in fact, when on holiday at Lundin Links. The statue looks remarkably how most folk imagine Robinson Crusoe to look.
A Very Happy Birthday N&G!
Soop, can`t the owners of the cat take more photos for you? Or have I got it terribly wrong and the cat is no longer with us?
I told you all a couple of weeks ago that my eldest son and DIL have asked me to go with them next summer when they go back to Llandudno. I`ve said yes, but still haven`t plucked up the courage to tell my daughter that I`m going. Chicken, that`s me, lol!!

soop Mon 09-Sept-19 17:25:58

callgirl1 The cat is still "with us". I have put the painting to one side (for a wee while) as I am growing dispirited by my lack of progress. I may need to pay the lady a visit and take a few photos with my camera.
Said hello to David earlier today. There was a solitary camper on the site. The new shop has opened at Muasdale. It looks very inviting.

Carillion Don't forget to share a photo with us in due course. smile

Ann I'm also feeling slightly jaded. Haven't stopped yawning since I rose from my bed. Nevertheless, hugely grateful to be alive.

corner I like cottage pie. Just sayin' wink

Susan Have made a start on Wilma's painting. Early days. Hopeful at the moment that I shall continue not to botch it. hmm

Care home visit in the morning. After which, I shall skip through the kitchen door to play catch-up with you lovely lot

TOYA smile moon

GrannyGravy13 Mon 09-Sept-19 17:47:17

Happy Birthday N & G ???

Charleygirl5 Mon 09-Sept-19 18:08:17

Happy birthday N&G, rather belated.

NanaandGrampy Mon 09-Sept-19 19:16:59

Evening all !!

Thank you all for my lovely birthday wishes . Its been an odd sort of birthday. I had an apt this morning as I have been selected to join 200,000 other people on a research project into the effects of asprin regarding preventing heart attacks and strokes in people with Chronic Kidney Disease. Not how I planned on spending my morning :-) But I thought how else will they learn these things.

And then it is weight in day tomorrow! How inconsiderate ! So there was no cake. But one of my daughters sent me money to have a cake mountain tomorrow after weigh in ( she knows me well ) and the other daughter allowed the little boys to send me a gift, I have attached a picture !!

I am glad to share a birthday with your Mum Galen ! Enjoy your cruise.

Lovely baby Tanith , he looks properly 'finished' !!

I shall be back after cake tomorrow :-)

Nannyfaraway Mon 09-Sept-19 19:17:56
