Not a headline but I recently read that Roman men could get special dispensation from Emperor Claudius
to fart during meals.
The source is Suetonius but he only said Claudius considered it but I like to think it was one of his many, many edicts.
No dispensation for women of course.
I have heard that during WW2 a newspaper (variously the Times, Guardian or Daily Mail) printed the headline:
'Allies push bottles up Germans'.
Probably apocryphal but amusing and a salutary lesson on the importance of the comma.
