Celebrity Crush

I must confess to occasionally getting an attack of palpatations that have nothing to do with a badly digested jammy dodger when certain CHAPS appear on the telly.
Even at my advanced age I'm not immune to a celebrity crush!

Mine are - Monty Don
Kim Bodnia (thanks to Lessismore for reminding me)
Michael Portillo
Jeremy Paxman
Simon Schama
Andrew Scott ( I know, black armbands all round ladies)
And the winner of my Nobel Prize for Hunk of the Year.......DAVID OLUSOGA ( A House Through Time)
I just love to see him staring gravely at the camera when he's about to announce another resident wiped off the face of the earth by typhoid, bankruptcy or lunacy.

I keep a picture of him I cut out of the paper stuck in the back of my diary. He's between my Sacred Heart prayer card, and my Farmfood coupons.

Who do you secretly long for?

I'm in a minority then? ?

James Norton - whether playing a goodie (in Grantchester) or a psychopath (in Happy Valley), and reading David Nicholls’ new book Sweet Sorrow. Lovely! And in my own generation the smoothly handsome Martin Jarvis in anything.

David Olusoga, Idris Elba, Hugh Jackman, Alan Rickman...yes it’s the voice!...but I have a very soft spot for Michael Ball. ?

Caro

Oh fair enough then, but have a good book on standby just incase you feel yourself slipping into a coma!

Lessismore Sat 24-Aug-19 14:01:33

Andrei Nikolayevich Bolkonsky

Kitty

I get the Michael Ball thing, he’s a guilty pleasure, its probably not very cool to say you find him attractive, but he’s like a lovely cuddly smiley teddy bear.

Kittye Sat 24-Aug-19 14:09:23

Sara that’s exactly it! We all love a teddy bear.

Come on, Grandads! Don't all rush at once, but what "CHAPS" on Tellie turn you on? grin

KatyK Sat 24-Aug-19 14:28:02

I like Michael Ball too. Also, after seeing him in concert, in which he was amazing, the lovely Michael Bublé.

Spudtm Sat 24-Aug-19 14:31:12

Ben Whishaw - such a cute smile

blondenana Sat 24-Aug-19 14:37:38

Michael Buble, hasn't met ME yet, wink Michael Ball, Bradley Walsh, ,Pierce Brosnan, even though he can't sing

KatyK Sat 24-Aug-19 15:00:20

He's nearly met me blondenana.I was so close to him I could have reached out and touched him. I restrained myself, what with me being 70 year old grandmother. Didn't want to scare the poor chap. There were loads of people who did touch h though.

KatyK Sat 24-Aug-19 15:00:54

him

blondenana Sat 24-Aug-19 15:10:11

KatyK ooh lucky you, you should have,he always seems lovely at his shows and very friendly to everyone who meets him

Loislovesstewie Sat 24-Aug-19 15:13:58

Neil Oliver; he is just gorgeous and he has a lovely accent. he makes archaeology the most interesting subject on earth!

KatyK Sat 24-Aug-19 15:19:00

Yes blondenana His show was terrific and we were lucky enough to have seats right near a walkway that he kept walking along, holding people's hands, posing for selfies. Lovely boy smile

lovebeigecardigans1955 Sat 24-Aug-19 15:24:04

Rick Edwards, he's tall, handsome and very 'polished' looking.

He can hand over £10k to me any day on Impossible - shameless aren't I? - not just after him for his money.

phoenix Sat 24-Aug-19 15:59:34

I think you could be wasting your time with Michael Ball! wink

maryhoffman37 Sat 24-Aug-19 16:01:32

Michael Portillo????? John Major???? Is this a spoof site? And @TerriBull, if we are getting into Spiral, I have to confess to a fascination with Philippe DuClos (Juge Roban).
I adored Alan Rickman and was so sad when he died. It wasn't just the voice either. A similarly besotted friend and I went to see him in Antony and Cleopatra, which the critics hated, and we were very close to the stage. We "came over a bit unnecessary" as my mother used to say!

judylow Sat 24-Aug-19 16:16:00

Charles Dance ever since The Jewel in the Crown days.

callgirl1 Sat 24-Aug-19 16:16:04

Aljas Skorjanek from Strictly, he has a lovely cheeky smile.

TerriBull Sat 24-Aug-19 16:28:07

maryhoffman, you can have Judge Roban all to yourself he looks like he needs a good meal, something I'd have thought he ought to be able to get in Paris quite easily grin No I'll stick to the grubby, and slightly out of shape"Gilou" As for Michael Portillo, I'd only want him for his "Bradshaw's" or what that provides him with grin and John Major, no not at all, ever!

Sara65 Sat 24-Aug-19 16:31:18

Stop being mean to John ladies, he’s got very kissable lips!

KatyK Sat 24-Aug-19 16:32:08

The Michael Ball fans may be in with a chance. After all Cathy McGowan is about 76 ish. grin

Kittye Sat 24-Aug-19 16:43:59

Yes he always mentions Cath at his shows....do you think he’s warning us grannies off. She may be in her 70s but she’s probably still gorgeous ?
