The weather is awful, it's not even August and the nights are drawing in. My husband has an irritating cough and the cat has disappeared.

The tomato plants in the greenhouse haven't grown and look black.
On the bright side, DH did bring in three small tomatoes but said "That's yer lot for this year"!

DH pranged the car into a fence even though I shouted 'Stop'. Apparently I made him jump, that's why he hit the fence.

Brilliant thread! A brief list of my trivial woes: my OH constantly sniffs, can't watch or hear the news because of his pontificating about whatever's being said, son and his girlfriend hog our 1 bathroom so at nearly midday I haven't yet washed or dressed (clothes pegs for the nose anyone?). I have a dear friend with mental issues and though I know (and usually do) I should listen sympathetically, I am at screaming point hearing her bang on about the state of her house, her son's behaviour and her physical and mental health problems (which of course are far worse than anyone else's on the planet).
I think I am at serious risk of becoming a serial killer ...... and I don't have a patio to bury the bodies under....

I've just received a letter, proposing my redundancy. I'm 60, so I'll need to get another job. More importantly, the elderly people who attend the day centre I've been running have been left in the lurch. The same for the hard-working, loyal volunteers (one has been helping out for 20 years)
Apart from that, everything is fine.....

I have a rare kind of breast cancer which my oncologist says is not operable and my surgeon has booked me in for an op! Either way it cannot be cured just contained. However, I refuse to moan about it as there are so many other good things going on in my life.
I suppose though by putting it on here I am having a bit of a moan!!

EllanVannin Sat 03-Aug-19 13:11:26

Dragonfly you shame me. I have a recurrence of a rodent ulcer which is a nuisance but can be " cured " by lancing. I'm fed up putting a huge plaster on it each day all for the sake of being brave a second time. I've put up with it for ages now, but it's not going to go away until I do something about it.

It's under my left breast, awkward or what ? Had it been on the end of my nose I 'd have had the bugger off !

I've got a degree in procrastination !

Got back from a week in 'sunny' Yorkshire with DGS 7. Got a jobsworth at passport control because my DD and SILs marriage certificate was not a certified translation to English. permission to travel was.
Coming home got stuck on the M60 and missed our flight home, paid £483 for flights for 2 with Ryanair to get home.
(Brussels)
65 tomorrow was in hospital for 60th so nothing done, asked DD straight out yesterday if we were doing anything for my birthday and she looked at me as if I had two heads!!!!
Going to take myself and a book to the Irish Pub across the road for fish and chips and a large white wine this evening.

Whitewavemark2 Sat 03-Aug-19 15:57:49

My M&S credit card was rejected twice today, so I toddled into the M&S bank to find out the problem.

Apparently I’m dead.

GrannyGravy13 Sat 03-Aug-19 15:58:36

My "bleep bleep bleep" washing machine has just broken.............full of soapy water and my "whites"!!!!

GrannyGravy13 Sat 03-Aug-19 15:59:11

WWMK2 I am so sorry but that made me laugh!!!!

dragonfly46 Sat 03-Aug-19 16:00:19

SirChenjin Sat 03-Aug-19 16:12:25

SirChenjin Sat 03-Aug-19 16:13:13

Oldandverygrey Sat 03-Aug-19 16:20:11

Husband has been watching cricket on TV for hours on end and it doesn't get more boring than that!

Merseybelle2 Sat 03-Aug-19 17:08:33

My friend called round this afternoon and before leaving used the loo which is downstairs. She was in there an awful long time and was obviously wrestling the devil as we could hear grunts and groans (small house/ no sound proofing ). I’ve just gone to use it now and she’s broken the toilet seat off confused.

gillybob Sat 03-Aug-19 17:11:37

I’m not sure where to put anything anymore confused

I’ve weeded my little front patch (I would be prosecuted under the trades description act for calling it a garden) so felt quite self satisfied .

I’m not “technically” moaning but now my legs are driving me nuts ! I’m tired but I can’t rest because of my stupid legs . Ok so I am moaning .

I just want to do something constructive . It’s Monday Eve, Eve for goodness sake !

GrannyGravy13 Sat 03-Aug-19 17:11:58

I am even moanier (ok I know it’s not a word!!) now as Mr.Gravy has managed to get the bleep bleep bleep washing machine going, just as I had located a new 5minutes up the road and they could deliver today!!!
(Cannot beat good local shops)

gillybob Sat 03-Aug-19 17:15:01

I’ve got a new toilet seat waiting to be fitted MerseyBelle ( when Mr GB gets round to it that is) you can have my old one if you like . It’s only 8 year old, a little bit stained around the hinge area but still got a bit life in it yet grin

Merseybelle2 Sat 03-Aug-19 17:43:02

gillybob - might take you up on that ! Getting more anally retentive ourselves the older we get so this will be the third bog seat since Christmas. I strongly suspect DH isn’t putting them on properly. His aim is rubbish as well ( not for number twos as even he can’t miss with those ) so have stains even on the wallpaper I’m ashamed to say. Just sent him to Wilko and told him to buy two so we’ve got a spare smile

Bellanonna Sat 03-Aug-19 17:48:19

Merseybelle both your posts made me ? out loud!

GillT57 Sat 03-Aug-19 18:00:53

Merseybelle my mind is boggling grin

eazybee Sat 03-Aug-19 18:50:33

I painted a garden chair with gloss paint in the garage, and to make space for all the paint brushes, paint pots I used I moved my best Hunter wellies and placed them carefully on ....the painted chair.

This thread is hilarious.
