Moaning thread

Due to yet another bike ride in London the bridges and embankment are closed and it was absolutely silent - quite eerie!

Silence broken by a berk with a leaf blower - what is the matter with people . I'd rather hear the roar of traffic than pesky leaf blowers!

I'm tempted to accidentally squirt him with the hosepipe

I wanted to contribute but can't find anything to moan about just now, except this wretched virus. I seem to have caught a virus just after Christmas. The symptoms are dizziness and diarrhoea, which I read was also causing problems on a cruise ship. It cleared up but keeps coming back. Last Sunday I was feeling rotten with it, so I'm thankful I'm ok at the moment. I'm not going to the doctor as they can't do anything about viruses. I'll just have to hope it eventually wears off.

I’m sure my mam taught me not to laugh at someone else’s misfortune, annsixty, but the way Chewbacca phrased her last post has me tittering away and DH is giving me funny looks!

Oh poor you Chewbacca I can imagine the pain but can’t help laughing at your description of your huge, fat lip, sorry.

I remember a wasp flying down my loose fitting top a couple of summers ago . We were sitting having a quiet drink in a beer garden and the more I flapped about and screamed “get it out” the more times it stung me. I just couldn’t get it out so ended up having to fling my top off . My chest and boobies were in a bit of a state I can tell you and it didn’t ‘alf hurt .

Chewbacca tell people you are joining that tribe where the women have bottom lips like saucers and you are just practicing.

How sorry I feel for myself as I have never been to a night club.
I will put it on the bucket list everyone is urging me to make before it is too late!!
There is a problem in that I am mostly in bed by 9pm.
It it very wrong to laugh at other people’s misfortunes (obviously only the comical ones)?

My wasp stung bottom lip looks like a doorstep this morning and my teeth are too painful to brush. I have a bbq party to attend this afternoon and I'm concerned someone will tread on my lip.

Please stop a minute folks.

Oh, and my knees hurt every step going downstairs.
I know it’s not anybody’s fault, but that’s my moan of today, for the moment.

1 really really want a cup,but we have a puppy asleep in the kitchen,and as soon as he hears movement he is vocal in his requirements.

He is resident GD pup,and of course she sleeps through the noise and the excited weeing and pooing that is my early morning wake up call.I did say no to a pup as I knew who would be left to do most of the work,but he was brought home and I am a soft touch and I love dogs.

So far he has chewed table,door,and new lead,and cost me £300 to put up fencing in communal area to stop him crapping on other peoples bits and the b@$&*₩d,gets through a gap somewhere,just waiting for council jobsworth to tell me take it down.

Have just added more plastic tat and crap to the garden in defiance and more solar lights to the fence

Having spent a few days in an unwelcome fog and confusion (I have Alzheimer’s) I have clawed my way up. I read this thread and felt uplifted, so thank you all.

I now have some semblance of order in my head over the last few days. However have not been sleeping so still a tad irritated

This was not helped at sparrowfart this morning as the magpies decided to play tag around the lightening conductor on the roof. So besides what sounded like tribal dancing we had metallic reverberations through the rafters twanging at an alarming number of decibels.

Then the crows decided to have a karaoke session in the treetops outside and what sounded like a a clog dancing session on the window ledges. Mayhem. That woke Mr Izabella up who decided enough was enough. He threw back the covers and leaped out of bed (quite a feat in itself) catching his foot on the door frame in the process. He opened and slammed a vellux window in the corridor with the desired effect of scattering the culprits amidst vociferous Corvidae complaints.

Peace restored. I still could not sleep so decided to listen to some music on my phone softly so as not to disturb Mr Izabella. “Oh my god this is worse than the damn birds” came the cry from a usually very placid man as he stomped off to another room. Of course
I then realized my hearing aids were not in so the soft music was actually quite loud. And he HATES Coldplay ?

I am now sitting with a cup of tea in bed realizing I have to strip the bed as said gentleman’s foot bled all over the sheets. Quite impressive as on anticoagulants.

On a more positive note the sky was stunning earlier

Our neighbours across have just had a party (very noisy). However, I think it was a teenage party so thank goodness we weren't invited! It was bad enough sitting outside eating our dinner without actually having to go to it.

a nightclub - golly! the last time I went to a nightclub I nearly caused a fight, but that's another story.

This was in a night club. It was still ghastly.

I can do a great moan about having to go to parties. Never liked them. Especially if they were in someone's home. Give me a dark seedy nightclub any day.

Wished I was dead at the party, it took me an hour to pluck up the courage to leave early.

Mr Magoo returned from Wilko but can’t get the toilet seat on, something to do with the fittings not being right. He’ll have to go to B & Q tomorrow to try and sort it. In the meantime I have to balance on the ceramic hard pan which is very uncomfortable. He’s never been good at DIY. He fitted the spy glass in the front door last year and it was only when my daughter visited two months later we found out it was the wrong way round.

I plucked up the courage to use the carpet cleaner I bought a year ago. I was wondering why the carpet wasn’t getting damp when a bit flew off. Then all went well, or so I thought but now I realise I forgot to rinse. Will have to do it all again tomorrow.

Oh god this thread is so funny

Can I also have a moan about DH'd total lack of understanding this morning about a lead we needed to move the router. It had to be the same connector on both ends - identical to the one I'd disconnected only twice as long. 3 times he disappeared into the garage and returned with various telephone extension leads/adaptors and just wouldn't believe I was right. In frustration he crawled down under the desk - no mean feat for his rather large bulk and tried to plug the damned thing into the BT socket and finally realised his error. A round trip to Currys sorted that problem out.

I won't even mention the full day putting up two security cameras .........

I have just come back very early from a party to which we were very kindly invited. We had to leave early as I was entirely deaf within 1/2 hr, by the music. DH pacemaker seemed to want to keep time.

It was ghastly.

My DS has just been told the Oil drilling site he is working on is shutting down. He has the option to accept a very meagre severance package or relocate with a significant cut in pay. He's recently separated as his wife went off with someone else taking their two beloved sons with her. He's thousands of miles away in Canada, I just wish I could give him a big hug. (sad).

On the plus side, I had a wonderful day out yesterday in Chester. Beautiful weather, Cruise along the river followed by a really delicious afternoon tea (thank you to my Brother & SIL for such a thoughtful birthday pressie).

Its very hot here ATM so I suppose I'll have to go and water the garden!
