A dude is male.
A female is a dudette.

I can't understand why people use 'going forward' when they mean 'in (the) future. It's often used by politicians when interviewed about their policies.

PS. My late lamented cats, who were creatures of some age and dignity would have got up and left if I had referred to them as 'furbabies'. Have some respect for your feline and canine companions.

annodomini, your comment is so correct where cats are concerned. It's about 25 years since I shared my life with cats but like yours, mine would most definitely have stalked off if I hadn't treated them with due respect.]
Dogs -they are so different than cats. With cats, they own you, they allow you to feed them, providing its the food they select. They may lie near you, or scratch their paws on your lap, they may often bring you a small furry animal that they've tormented half to death - usually when you're trying to sleep in bed.
For dogs, you can do no wrong. Every day is the best they ever had, every single thing you do with them is just the best thing ever. They lie at your feet ( or more likely on your sofa) they adore you, adore your friends, love the life they live with you.
They are however not Fur Babies. They are dogs. Mine may be allowed on the sofa, but only if they ask nicely and get off when I ask them to. They have respect for me and I respect them so they are dogs, family members for sure but not fur babies. I suspect my huge wolf like older dog would be shocked if she heard herself described as a fur baby. (The young spaniel has aspirations to be a fur baby but she can whistle dixie, it won't happen)

My friend's.DiD has just had her second baby and my friend has been introduced to cluster feeding and cosleeping!!!

I’ve read through all the posts and wholeheartedly agree. I hate them all.
My Sister in law is the worst offender and, much as I love her, hate the references to her “grandbabies” and the latest “famalam”. What the hell is that word?? ?

I hate the term 'play park'- it's just a park. Also, presenters and MPs who say I'm 'gonna' do/say/go......especially those who went to Eton who should know how to speak 'proper(ly)'.

"Prolly" instead of probably. This makes no sense to me whatsoever.

I wasn't really aware of 'the rainbow bridge' thing until this thread, but this evening the term has appeared in my life - spooky! We had a rainbow at sunset just now and a neighbour commented that it must be a message from a third neighbour who died recently, to say they'd reached 'the other side' safely.
